961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is made for all men women and Children world wide on: January 20, 2015, 05:34:57 PM
If women can't even create a txt file in the appdata roaming folder and change the file extension to .conf, then obviously they shouldn't be allowed money in the first place.

This is sexist.

and the name is really silly.. seems like some kind of tropical desease shit

Monero is actually a word in Esperanto. http://eo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monero

I still think it's irrelevant compared to Bitcoin.
963  Economy / Economics / Re: Is crypto as a financial investment doomed? on: January 20, 2015, 03:05:30 PM
but most investors don't see currencies as investments

That's a contradiction right there.
964  Economy / Economics / Re: Is crypto as a financial investment doomed? on: January 20, 2015, 02:37:01 PM
Is crypto as a financial investment doomed?

I hope so. I want to use Bitcoin as a currency.
965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Bitcoin Box' Can Process Payments With No Web Connection on: January 20, 2015, 01:40:41 PM
If the channel is not encrypted regardless if it's bluetooth, the internet or nfc the data exchanged can be tampered.

Yes, but Bitcoin transactions are signed, so any tampering between the sender and the receiver would result in an invalid transaction, right?

Or maybe the hacker just replaces the transaction with an entirely different one, which makes no sense to me, since they can just send it from the beginning anyway.
966  Economy / Economics / Re: Serious flaws in Bitcoin monetary policy on: January 20, 2015, 03:37:33 AM
The main problem that you state is already a moot point imo. How in hell Bitcoin isn't elastic? You could live off a single Bitcoin giving its so damn divisible. I dont see the practical problem in the 21 million cap. It's like complaining about gold being limited in earth. A limitation is needed, otherwise you always end up with the current fiat problem.

You could live off $200 cause it's divisible down to nano pennies?   Shocked

$200 aren't divisible down to nano pennies. That's the problem with fiat.
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest Robery in bitcoin history on: January 20, 2015, 01:53:07 AM
How can then people know of all the rules if no one talks about them?

Common sense, basically. Why should I go and brag about how much money I have?
968  Other / Meta / Re: Thumbnail images on: January 19, 2015, 10:54:34 PM
Can we get images to post as re-sizable thumbnails? Images are fun, but they should be optional.

You can give your images custom sizes...  Undecided

But people usually leave the images as-is, which frequently are high-definition, and it's annoying to look at in a standard monitor.
969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Bitcoin Box' Can Process Payments With No Web Connection on: January 19, 2015, 07:24:17 PM
Why is Bluetooth insecure for Bitcoin transactions? I don't understand. Transactions are already sent signed, so it's not like someone could tamper them, or can they?

I don't know if it is possible "tamper" a transaction when it was sent, maybe you can modify it before but not  during/after the sending.

OK, so sending the transaction via Bluetooth is secure. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe the other ones who said it's insecure can answer me.

now i am worried about mine [amount removed] in my account Tongue

First rule of Bitcoin: you don't talk about how many bitcoins you have.

Is it? I thought first rule of Bitcoin if you dont give your private key to noone.

OK.

First rule: You don't give your private key to anyone.
Second rule: You don't talk about how many bitcoins you have.
971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be bigger than Facebook on: January 19, 2015, 03:38:07 PM
Bitcoin already IS bigger than Facebook, because 1BTC is worth more than 1 Facebookaccount

It's not like I can have 0.2187 FB account, or can I?
972  Other / MultiBit / Re: If Multibits servers were compromised on: January 19, 2015, 02:36:30 PM
If MultiBit server (I don't think there's more than one) is compromised, then it would be dangerous to download the client, but people with the client already installed would have no issue using it.

[link removed]

Even it have 3 different kins of ponzi: list, pyramid, futures

Without explaining how it accomplishes all the rules (especially #6: the owner should not play himself), then this is advertising.
977  Economy / Economics / Re: Serious flaws in Bitcoin monetary policy on: January 18, 2015, 04:38:48 AM
Who said here a need for a central bank? I only said that we need a mechanism that controls the money supply, it doesn't have to be a central bank, it can be just a decentralized protocol that watches the price, an AI if you will.

Now you've got a bigger problem: develop a decentralized AI that doesn't require any trust. If someone can do this, then it would be a bigger achievement tan Bitcoin itself.

maybe you dont understand the whole potential of BTC . if you like, take a look:

pass

You can't argue without understanding your opponent's position.

Or maybe the BAD press out weighs the sales machine that attracts all the crackheads to this crap

Why would I bother? - when I can learn more from the people who have gotten burnt from this crapology

Your bitcoin might have started out with a righteous cause, but like communism it became worse than the regime it replaced

I'm definitely not looking to trade in this volatile piece of garbage

If you think this is crap, you need to understand the crap so you can have arguments about why this is crap. If you don't, then you're clearly just trolling.

And we're arguing with a troll.
