Your motherboard only got 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16) 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4) 2 x PCI Express x1 slots and 2 x PCI slots that can not be use for GPU. With that max you can go is 4 GPU. But if you use the other 2 x M.2 connector (using converter to pcie), you can at 2 more GPU with total 6 GPU (of course I don't know if it really work with your motherboard), but maybe some of our member here know about that. |

Try it like this, reset bios and use onboard VGA, and keep it don't change it to PCIE GPU. After that add your GPU, check it on windows system device error or not, DDU it and use blockchain driver and if you use mod bios don't forget to use atiamdpatch. Restart after install all and if it goes to windows and gpu not error, move your monitor from onboard to gpu, check if the monitor on (if not then your hdmi not powered and of course your screen will always blank), shutdown and go to bios and change from onboard vga to pcie gpu and then plug in your monitor to gpu. If still blank screen change your hdmi to another hdmi with powered or just try another monitor cause some monitor not good enough.

started CAST miner and my 6 Vega 64 incl mobo and screen are pulling 2000W from 1300W for an added 100H on total
obviously not a winner, as suggested by OP each to his own sweet spot, i must fiddle a little with the values
or
i just settle with 10% less at 1989h/s/vega64 which is what im mining ETN with at the mo.

Total 12 x VEGA64 @23987 (@2600W) +10%(with above hex table)= +2400H/s = +1.1Vega64

I use maximus 7 ranger, and I can only manage to get more than 5 gpu with not using overclock even XMP ram (2100 ram only 1600 now)
Overclock has nothing to do with the mb detecting cards bro! plus why would you OC your RAM just leave it at default should be 2133MHz This is what i understood from you post unless i've missed something please elaborate would be happy to help  Default on DDR3 is 1600, even auto OC (XMP) will make my motherboard just silent when start (not post), must reset bios. Can you list the parts you're using for your rig please. Thanks Actually this rig is gaming rig before. Asus Maximus VII Ranger, I7 4790k 4.4Ghz (before 4.8GHz) and 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866 (before I used to OC it to 2100 or 2133). I think still better using H110/B250 Mining other than another gaming board. So what make my rig can get more than 5 GPU is, reset bios to normal, change cpu core to 4.4 skip XMP for ram (if I change to XMP motherboard wont post) enable 4G, change to gen1 even all other setting, save and restart. |

Hi, i´m building a new GPU mining rig. It´s based on a standard mb which i got for free including a low-power cpu. It has a 1x PCI-e 16 and 1x PCI-e slots on the board. Now i already got 1x 780ti gtx in the PCI-e 16 running and a x4 Splitter in the PCI-e slot (i use this one: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07414NTB4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) on the x4 Splitter i run 4 780ti gtx. thus 5 GPU´s are already running without issues. My question: Can i use a second x4 splitter in the PCI-e slot and thus runn additional 3 GPU´s in total ? (iE 8 in total in this setup) Or is there a limit how many PCI-e Splitters i can use ? thanks in advance if someone knows or has experience I don't think so, bets you can get maybe 6 or 7, and not stable. so not worthed. Better buy another 2nd pc for that. |

Hi,
Setup: 2x RX 580 factory OC and not undervolted, AsRock H81 R2.0, Nanopool, Claymore miner
Rig has been running for few hour now. Have noticed:
a) Rig got hanged once and I had to physically reset the machine.
b) GPU fan speed is ~ 43 for GPU 1 and ~ 26 for GPU 2.
c) The constant temperature of each GPU is 74C. Sometimes it goes to 75C but never beyond that. Would be grateful if you let me know if that is a permissible temperature?

New problem, speed less 30%. CPU G4400 ram 4GB, pagefile from 60gb and go to 120gb still got same result. Adding 4gb more ram still same.
Have you OC-ed your GPUs? - Is overclock applied? Maybe faulty video drivers? - DDU and reinstall drivers GPU modded, with 10 running 900+ buth 11 or 12 only 700+. |

I try 10 RX 580 and it running perfectly. So per each kind GPU still not yet limited (GPU is different 5 sapphire 3 xfx and 2 msi) and 2 msi 470.

Are they the same cards?
I dont think you can have more than 8 similar cards under windows.
For example i have 7 nvidias and 6 amds on that motherboard.
If i put 9 nvidias it will not work.
2 RX 470 and 10 RX580 >> and I must kill 2 so it can run. Right now it run with 2 RX 470 and 8 RX 580. Maybe cause of that? Better change that 2 580 with another 470 or 480? |

What OS you are using?
Troubleshooting is very hard because of the cards number used. You can check all raisers if they work correctly.
Also check for pin shorting.
I had so much trouble with with 10+ cards on this board that i just eventually gave up trying.

I’ve been doing some research for the past 2 weeks and i decided to build my #1 test mining rig or a gaming PC if i fail at mining . My plan is to build simple mining PC with NVidia GPUs to learn how to mine.
