61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DAO.Casino - Blockchain Protocol for the Gambling Industry on: July 26, 2017, 10:53:04 PM

So there will be no third party or external escrowers?

So far we are not inclined to use any third party escrow service for the development of DAO.Casino.

People in marketing always recommend having an escrow, while legal experts we spoke to say that escrow in this context makes no sense apart from a marketing trick, since it provides no guarantees.

First of all, let’s say a token holder is not happy with the development process i.e. it takes longer, can she go to the escrow service and get money back in exchange for tokens?

yes token holder can get their money back if ico doesnt raise enough funds or take too long, as long as it's agreed upon by all the parties.

63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 Unbelievable risk/reward ratio. 36975 funded adresses. on: July 26, 2017, 06:41:24 AM
The bottom line: do something, don't ask what Mooncoin can do for you, ask what you can do for Mooncoin.
Don't compare BTC to MOON, they have very different market caps, they are very different projects.
Better to compare not projects, but their risk/reward ratios. No risk, no profit.
To become a whale, one must risk.

To complain about whales in a decentralised project with equal opportunities?
MOON is fairer than Bitcoin, Bitcoin really had first adopters when people hadn't heard of crypto at all.

And in 2015-2016 people definitely had heard of crypto from TV and Web.
People had a chance to google and to find Bitcointalk and Altcoin announcements and Coinmarketcap,
and to buy MOON (or other Altcoins) cheap when it was a market crisis and no faith.

There are different stories. Mooncoin is fair, with equal opportunities.
Who knows, maybe in the future people will call someone who owns 1-10 million MOON - a whale, and will complain about it.

i dont necessarily disagree w/ you totally. the point i was making is that moon has been nothing but a pumpanddump coin thus far. as soon as it went up to 10+sat ppl sold for quick profit and now back to the bottom again. imo, its not an =opp coin when some ppl have over billions of coins and they are not using them to seriously improve moon other than doing little things here and there.

as far as me contributing, im not a foundation member nor have access to billions or hundreds of coins (if i did, i would focus more on substance like recruiting smart devs, spending on advertising/marketing(ie donating and giving away millions), and raising funds via ico (not this https://www.youcaring.com/barrystylejames-884047 without stating why they should donate although i do appreciate someone trying). but i am contributing as a marketing expert for free.  i mean if you want ppl to donate money or contribute to its ico, they have to believe in the project, right? and that means they will be looking into the team(ie ethereum, bat, etc. smart ppl with proven records). no one is going to blindly give away money to some project without  believing in it and w/o knowing who is behind it. in fact, moon has a horrible track records when you look at the historical chart (short term profit/pump and dump coin).

however there is hope. generally ppl r hesitant to invest in co w/ billions of coins w/ pump and dump history UNLESS of course moon is everywhere giving away to ppl and for good causes. see we let ppl know that old mooncoin is gone and is under a new team who is giving away billions of coins  to help ppl gain financial independence, to benefit organizations, and to contribute towards great causes. whales and miniwhales will get rich if they show unselfishness and caring thru ACTION not talk. saying this is an =opp coin means diddly if you dont prove it w/ actions like donating hundreds of millions, or even billions to great causes and to seriously help ppl. ppl know some whales are sitting on billions and hundreds of miilion coins.

so if you want moon to be successful, hire smart devs and give mooncoins away on a regular basis. prove to the public that you guys care(whether you actually do is not important). dont just hold on to your hundreds of millions of coins or billions hoping it will skyrocket one day; bc if that accidentally happens everyone will be selling and we r back to square one. mooncoin becomes another pumpanddump coin. but if millions of ppl end up owning moon and its stable, whales are set for life.

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: July 26, 2017, 04:51:41 AM
Our 5-year target price is $1 each so its a long term project. We might also venture out to Smart Contracts if we can see that the it will be needed or at least bring in a major benefit to the users and if 3rd party systems are already into Crypto 2.0.
travel agencies and hotels wont specifically accept toa without accepting bitcoin first bc they wont have the system in place to accept digital currencies unless they already accept bitcoin. im trying to see what makes toa different than any other altcoins.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: July 26, 2017, 04:14:19 AM
best coin after ethereum
why?
i just dont trust any coin w/o seeing who is involved. why doesnt iota reveal its team members? all the best promising ones do that. at least thats how i determine the real ones to the sketchy ones.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [KAYI] Kayı - Token that Distributes Dividends on: July 25, 2017, 10:18:01 PM
does anyone know who started Kayi? are they waves devs?
hello?

Not likely. The waves team is legit and professional.

man i thought it was by the wave team. no wonder kayi is not responding. possibly he created this to make quick bucks and moved on? hopefully im wrong bc i  bought a lot and thinking of buying more.
well if the dev doesnt return or abandoned this coin, wish another dev would take over bc this is a great idea with decent name.
any devs out there who want to take over this coin and make it work? hello?

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 Hedge to BTC LTC DOGE with an unbelievable risk/reward ratio on: July 24, 2017, 03:05:28 PM
You believe that an unstable coin like that is going to be a good hedge against changes in the larger market? What you need to hedge things with to something that actually has a guaranteed rise in value like Bitcoin. You're not going to head something with something that is so utterly and completely unpredictable.

The question is what will be easier:
for BTC to go from almost $3000 to $15000 (x5),
or for MOON to go from 2 Satoshi to 10 Satoshi (x5).
Maybe the word "hedge" is not completely correct, it's all about the risk/reward ratio.
It's just a diversification. MOON is not more unstable than other known coins.
No one can predict the madness of the market though.
BTC was a good hedge at $500-$1000, but now at almost $3000 with an upcoming blockchain changes (August, 1), the possible split into a classic BTC and BTC unlimited (BTU), it's not a hedge (at least not now) in my opinion.
Are you sure that Bitcoin has a guaranteed rise in value from these levels?

The crypto is a quite unpredictable thing though, it always surprises.

cant compare bitcoin with moon.
moon has no devs and community support like btc. to be the devils advocate, the prob with moon is that its whales are short term let-me-take-some-profit oriented thinkers. look at our history. two pump and dump examples- in the early 2014 and a few months ago. then it's dead for years. it appears that the foundation/whales are not putting the best interest of mooncoin above their own financial interest, although they try-ie new logo contest, new website, and discord. the bottom line is they are trying but not trying hard enough. putting our own self interest above mooncoin will eventually kill mooncoins great potential or stay this way. how about recruiting some smart dedicated devs and working on some innovative ideas(smart likes and moon word=not very practical and innovative, imo or else it would be very popular.). its quite simple. if mooncoin succeed we all win.

DISCUSSION ON THE FUTURE OF DEVCOIN

First of all, thanks everyone for your patience! I had to take a time to discuss internally with the people that expressed support to my initiative of hardforking Devcoin. I waited a reasonable amount of time for their answers. Now is time to make the discussion public.

Yes! I'm planning to hardfork Devcoin! this is the actual plan:

1. Define a new Rewards Distribution System (RDS) for new generated Devcoins (a new policy for the receiver_xx.csv files)
2. Define a new Inflation Rate Strategy (IRS O_o!), no more wild generation of Devcoins!
3. Implement RDS & IRS in tesnet
4. Hardfork Devcoin

I know Devcoin has many downsides, but we have some strengths: Many people is holding Devcoin! We are not starting from scratch. There is still an exchange site supporting this project and an strong force of miners giving live to Devcoin's blockchain.

Everyone interested on the future of Devcoin, please share your insights on RDS & IRS. We need a fair system that ensures we are rewarding people that are actually serving the purpose of Devcoin, along with managing the inflation rate in a way that promotes Devcoin's ecosystem.

I look forward to your feedback Devcoiners!

when is the hardfork?
i can still leave my dvc in CoinGather after hardfork right?
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: July 09, 2017, 02:25:40 AM
As a silent holder, just wanted to thank the devs for their efforts. Back in the day I've also been writing Devtome posts and whatnot and always liked the devcoin idea. Even if it is quite around DVC now, maybe it will ressurect at some point.

@R-J-F @niceli, I do appreciate your feedback a lot! It only encourages us to keep working hard Smiley This time we really want to make it better. Please stay tuned and don't worry about the price fluctuations, we are still on baby steps, things will improve as we make progress!

are you working on devcoin fulltime or partime? if not do you know what happen to the original founder or any dev is currently working on it? im interested in buying some bc i like its long history and its potential. maybe we can start with community support and create discord or slack. thanks.

we are happy about Environ , list a big exchange , example polo or bittrex and still going up for price
and all people happy with trading environ ,
we support your project dev , and succes
good jobs for environ

we cant be listed on big exchanges untill we have the volume and community. one thing at a time. first we need to create a discord or slack account to form a community. then we can promote it and so on. this coin has such a bright future.

If somebody have a quality project, which's purpose is protecting environment, please don't hesitate to contact with me.

why dont you create a discord account for various discussions and to form environ community.

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Can the Mooncoin rise up to 0,01$ in 2017 ? on: May 25, 2017, 04:58:15 PM
Look about the RDD, DGB and all others coin who start at the price of the MOON, the project is good and its still growing up, if you don't believe in it don't buy, but I really believe in  Wink

What do you mean look at RDD? "The project is good"?? Why?

Is it possible they are just pumping to steal from bag-holders and the project is not good and after they steel the price goes down? Could that possibly happen and the project is not good meaning your statement is not true?

sometimes project is "good" if it has dedicated followers spurring growth. even if it doesnt start out with a bang or with killer innovative ideas, with loyal followers, it can grow to attract more devs and killer deas in the future. mooncoin has a modest start with no premine. i m a supporter of mooncoin bc ppl appear to be serious in making this coin grow.

look at dogecoin. nothing special about that coin. but it has community support bc it's got cute dog as its logo and it looks fun to own some of it.

imo, we at mooncoin need something fun, attractive and exciting like dogecoin. lets brainstorm yall!!

How Smart Likes Work

Moonlite Explorer 1.029.1 (beta testing):
http://mooncoin.com/ml/

Would a brief video demonstration be possible? If it isn't out of the way for anyone of course.

Do you mean to convert the picture http://mooncoin.com/how_smart_likes_work.png to the video?
You really need only do step-by-step what is described in this picture, it's very simple in fact to start using Smart Likes.

Difficult to explain though (other than just trying it and seeing how it works), you never know what can be unclear.

is there any way you can simplify this concept and make it easier to apply? i have above average intelligence but too many steps for me to bother. something that a layperson can easily do it

Vernon is going to the moon with our moon coins lol
Alt coin market cap is up only 25 billion since cryptsy went kaput... Roll Eyes

You're misinformed.
Vernon's MOON addresses (top 2 seen in block explorers, almost a half of supply)
are unspendable after the fork in March.

just wondering, so what happened to those unspendable mooncoins? are they burned forever? if yes, whats the total supply now?
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 📁 novusphere.io 📁 atmos (ATMS) 📁 Open Development 📁 on: May 05, 2017, 06:55:05 PM
Overview and Expectations for this May, 2017

This weekend we'll be publishing what we've been working on for the Image SFSI. Consequentially, since for the image SFSI we allow users to upload content (images) for us to host it's fairly easy to modify this to allow for any content to be uploaded to us for a fee. I say this with a word of caution because for obvious reasons if the content is in violation of laws and we're requested to pull it from our servers, we will. It's worth noting as well that while we could charge atmos for such a system there's no doubt that it's far cheaper in retrospect for a person to either buy a cheap HDD and/or rent a storage server. In other words, if the community wishes for such a service it can be easily created but we feel it makes little to no sense to prioritize such a system in contrast to one where the file/content is not only held by our servers, but rather many users/servers have an incentive to seed it making it so it's not a single point failure system.

Midway through this month we're expecting to have started on atmos integration and web wallet development. As of right now, our designers have already started working on the wallet so we'll be able to offer some screenshots soon. Anything relating to the wallet will be open-source from the get-go and this includes block explorer related development. As this web wallet will initially compatible with the temporary version of atmos, it means that it will also be compatible with other coins with minimal changes. We are looking to introduce a few security features native to the interface such as multisig 2fa. While some are against the idea open source because someone can "steal" code, open source thrives on contribution from the community. We feel by enabling other projects easy accessibly to more secure infrastructure then what's currently available will be a benefit to the entire altcoin scene as a whole. As mentioned before, the underlying mechanisms of the wallet will be later changed when the blockchain is changed but the idea is to familiarize people with the UX early on.

At this time, we will also be looking to expand in terms of promotions. At this time, we're primarily focusing on our crypto-oriented audience and main stream will follow later on. This means for those who have private messaged me about translation bounties, we'll be looking to have a few of these done soon so we can begin appealing to non-English speaking audiences.

Currently, we are in discussion with another developer for a research project we're interested in. All I can say at this time it utilizes AFIX and relates to an application of machine learning and neural network design. Assuming discussions continue to go well and are finalized, we'll be soon introducing this developer in the near future and giving the full details of the scope of the project he'll be working on!

Edit: Dabs has also said that he'll be soon be resubmitting an application to Yobit on behalf of this project. Thank you to those who helped contribute to the fee associated with the listing Smiley

There's still about 9.9% of atmos to be distributed in the crowdfund still sitting in the crowdfund wallet please withdraw your coins if you haven't!

still not listed on bittrex or even yobit. any updates?
