81  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 'Provider is using automated cancellations and refunds'. on: April 23, 2014, 08:27:15 PM
(You know, you -do- have our email addresses. You can email us with a 'hey, this changed, do this if you want to do that'.)
Having someones email address is not the entire concern.

If you are looking for a completely new system to be setup with a mailing list we could raise our fees to pay for the service?

If not: http://leaserig.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/1000043894

We aren't updating the announcements section much now as it seems to go unread...

Well. Actually YES, it is the entire concern. You're making changes, and you're writing them down, but you're not doing the important and critical thing of actually TELLING people the things that you've written down.

So, each time you make an announcement (which, yes, goes unread because no-one knows they exist), send an email to all the providers with a 'hey, new announcement, /link/'. Or, even easier, just email everyone the announcement.

Then we'll know what's going on, rather than having to trawl through bct and rummage through that support desk site.

So.. What does this mean?

I mean there's a big button over the right saying I must understand something that isn't explained before I click it, so I haven't clicked it.

Is this something else that isn't explained, too?

83  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LeaseRig.net Rent & Hire SHA/SCRYPT/DARK/QUARK HashPower! on: April 06, 2014, 09:49:53 PM
Did you already open a support ticket?

Just in case you missed it, lots of people DON'T LIKE the way sessions are expiring continuously. If that's deliberate, please don't. If it's accidental, please fix.

Lee9527 aimed the cluster at a poor little pool that was asking for Difficulty 1 shares. Sadly, this flooded the pool, causing a Denial of Service.

I had actually emailed him as soon as I noticed, but he didn't get a chance to read it until his lease was almost up.

I then suggested another pool, and gave him 100% of his time again, for free.  When hashing against that pool, it stepped quickly up to requesting 2k+ difficulty blocks, which worked perfectly.

Reputation Thread. So I can be reputable!

So, whilst I'm classed as a 'newbie' on BCT, I'm not.  I managed to lose my old security token, and it was just too much like hard work to use my old 'qldrob' account.   I have many successful BTC/Fiat Trades in Gribble, and I'm a well known Open Source Developer.

87  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sushi Review appears to have been taken over by a Scammer. on: March 12, 2014, 07:04:05 PM
Hadiwinardi made a similar post like this last week...

Yeah. sadly, he made it like 8 hours after I ordered mine. Sigh.
88  Economy / Scam Accusations / Sushi Review appears to have been taken over by a Scammer. on: March 12, 2014, 05:22:55 PM
And, of course, I've been bitten. Sigh.

I did, in good faith, do some research before buying a couple of Antminer S1's from Sushi Review. Plenty of good reviews, plenty of people saying they received what they ordered.

And, as Sushi is in China (and I'm in Australia) I thought I'd order through there, rather than through Bitmain, for shorter delivery times.

Bad mistake.  Order was accepted, payment was received, and then.. nothing.

After not getting shipping confirmation the next day (when the order promised next day shipping), I opened a ticket asking for a tracking number. Nothing.

Then after a couple of days, I opened ANOTHER ticket asking for a refund.  Still nothing.

And now I see lots and lots of posts appearing from OTHER people who also haven't received their orders, and have had their emails and tickets ignored.

So, Sorry, but it appears that his catchphrase of "Because Bitcoins Are Here to Stay" is missing a word.  It should now be "Because YOUR Bitcoins are here to stay".

TL;DR:  Sushi has given up on actually shipping things people pay for. Sushi Review = Scam.

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin - New Litecoin based coin on: April 16, 2013, 09:25:20 PM
It seems to think that the IRC server is down, and doesn't want to find a list of peers..

So with the GTX570, I'm getting 179-180KHash, while using the desktop. It's JUST on the border of being annoyingly laggy. But is working quite nicely.

DealXtreme have some 1x -> 16x Extenders. I'll find the link.

(No need for potentially dangerous wires on your motherboard then)

96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Today's DDOS / MT.GOX manipulation observation on: April 11, 2013, 01:55:19 AM
I don't think that there's any dispute that people are DDOSing Gox in order to drive down the market price. However, this has been a reasonably recent phenomenon, and while their DDOS protection is already at 'Pretty damn Good', they need to step it up to 'Amazon' levels of DDOS protection.  I'm sure they'll do it sooner rather than later.

97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So you slept through the "crash"... on: April 11, 2013, 01:24:14 AM
am thinking of dedicating some investments directly into LTC instead.

I know I am, too. scrypt gives the 'average' user a bit of protection against the oncoming ASIC invasion of SHA256.

98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ~1Mhash/s on burnside for LTC, seeing very little gain? on: April 11, 2013, 01:14:35 AM
I've been averaging anywhere from 800kh/s to 1mh/s on the burnside LTC pool, and its been chugging away for maybe 9 hours now, and the estimate has been .12 LTC all day. I had gone up by .2 LTC a bit ago, and now it looks like total for the day I'm up .4 LTC, which is less than a third of what I should be getting in theory.

I'd suggest you look at P2pool. They pay out very very regularly.

99  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: the dangers of copy-pasting a wallet address from websites on: April 08, 2013, 07:49:08 AM
Which is why you always check the first and last couple of characters when you copy and paste. It's reasonably hard to get that, and is 'good enough'. Normally.
