22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Rig with 6 x R9 390 8 GB GPUs on: February 22, 2017, 03:12:01 AM

It's worth getting at the right price and running if your electricity is cheap and you can easily cool them.

the challenge with a 1 PSU 6 GPU 390 Rig is safely powering all the GPU's and the riser cards without overloading the PSU or your power cables. Unless you can get a 2000W PSU, this is damn near impossible to do and you'll need a 2nd PSU to do it safely at stock speeds/clocks.

Now if you undervolt everything and cut your power requirements down, the equation changes but its definitely not a "newbie" setup unless you have a good understanding of underclocking.

2 PSUs
1 1000W
1 850W

Was able to get 4 GPUs up, last two still tinkering with.
After tinkering with the other two, perhaps "fried" motherboard
As unable to turn back on.....

Suggest purchasing new motherboard??  Undecided

I'm prefer on stable value like doge , ETH , & LTC

Other than them , I'm still difficult to manage my trade for the profit as the value can't consistent from time to time compare my selected coin

LTC is stable  Shocked

Siacoin  Huh

At its current price 0.00000030
for its marketcap, and
Minebox coming out in early March

I find 100% is likely in the near future.

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining Rig with 6 x R9 390 8 GB GPUs on: February 21, 2017, 08:20:24 PM

I've stumbled upon a friend's mining rig, which he is having some difficulty putting together.
Is this equipment still a viable option in regards to mining perhaps even some Altcoins or would it be
better to look into re-selling?

Thanks!  Roll Eyes

Why not both?

Best Answer  Wink

Instead Of “Either/Or” Why Not “Both?”
Bitcoin will be established as the Cryptocurrency Reserve
However many other Cryptocurrency will evolve within Bitcoin's ecosystem

Consider for example the diversity within Credit cards
Credit cards are, for the most part, issued by banks.
As a store of value, bitcoin severs ties with banks, but we still
will have Visa, Chase, Wells Fargo, MasterCard, Capital One, Chase, American Express

1. The supply is fixed.
2. Assuming Bitcoin is adopted for number of practical applications, the value will rise significantly.
3. More and more people and businesses seem to be using Bitcoin.
4. A higher price could increase transaction volume, which would then further boost the price.
5. Bitcoin has a first-mover advantage among the other digital currencies.
6. So far, the attitude of most government regulation toward digital currencies has been, on the whole, cautiously positive.
7. A comparison to gold suggests Bitcoin could be undervalued.
8. Comparing Bitcoin with a technology company also suggests it could someday be quite valuable.
9. On pure trading metrics alone, it looks like a buy.
10. More investors are taking it seriously and using it as a portfolio diversifier.

Still holds some truth today  Wink
