4221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways in which you can promote bitcoin. on: May 23, 2020, 04:32:30 AM
Hello everybody. There are really many ways to promote bitcoin, but I think that the most useful and the most justified is simply to tell friends and acquaintances about this asset, and most importantly, immediately try to explain all the pitfalls. Because with all the advantages, there are a lot of all kinds of unnecessary and harmful information related to various swindlers. There should be portioned information, because great abundance is rather disgusted than sympathy. Only a personal example and not retold other people's stories will help people quickly get all the charms of digital gold. Personally, I tell my friends a lot about my bitcoin story. I make reposts and retweets of literate and informative articles about cryptocurrency. In addition, I try to retell articles about bitcoin, with experience of my own application. I am not shy about being a fan of the crypto industry, and I'm not afraid to be misunderstood. Any way to promote bitcoin is good if it is based on personal experience.
Promoting bitcoin at a personal level is the best way, though it will not attract much crowd but the ripple effect will continue spreading the stories of people about bitcoin, the other way of promoting is through advertisement, which means that you will need a capital for the production of the advertisement, this is though ineffective because the needed prize to place an ad is very expensive. Now back on promoting bitcoin on a personal level, in my opinion, letting people know everything you know about bitcoin is important be it advantages or disadvantages, they have the right to know so that they can weigh the risks and rewards involved and you will not be held responsible when they make a bad decision because you have been transparent in the first place.
4222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Underground Casinos Is it Happening? on: May 22, 2020, 10:44:36 AM
Underground casino has been around ever since this pandemic, they are the scums that profit by letting minors play and evade taxes.

It is, but we don't have any proof that it is happening in our cities.
We cannot acquire those kind of facts.
With the right people you can acquire these "facts", trust me when I say that there so many underground casinos that the authorities can't crack all of them down because some of them are pocketing officials that render them immune to these things. This casinos are really good at eluding authorities and when you do not get the head of the operation then the body will just grow back.

These guys might be composed of rich and known people only in the gambling industry.
They won't let those information just leak out to the mass.
If the government will have a cut for it which could be millions of money then it will be done.  Grin
The government can't do much with these bootleg casinos, they have too many issues at hand that these illegals are freely roaming and getting rich without ever giving back to the society, this types of scums is what I hate the most because they are being consumed by greed and most of the time they are not punished for it.
4223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do online gamblers think about their privacy and anonymity? on: May 22, 2020, 09:11:04 AM
if im not mistaken i think i saw a kind of survey like this before and i read that many gamblers do like to be anonymous while playing a gambling  . that could also be the reason why they are here playing with cryptos than on fiat because some things that are related to cryptos are anonymous while some still request for your names and other private infos.  for me i just  play traditionally like signing up a bit and provide name , email , etc as long as the site is legit
The reason for the development of online casino is for convenience and by far anonymity has always been the thing that the Internet caters. Of course these people want the aasurance that they are anonymous, that is the reason that they are gambling, we can always play at physical casino but I think that it is evident to online gamblers why they want to play online, well most of them do want the privacy so I could be wrong. The reason for playing with complete anonymity besides the fact that they can be targeted when they win big is that most of them are ashamed of what people will think of them, this stigma that we put on people are making things worse, this worsens someone's addiction, instead of people knowing that someone gamble, the anonymity that online gambling offers becomes a safe haven for people that wants to get out of the ever prejudiced eyes of the masses.
4224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your stategy how to grow bitcoin on: May 22, 2020, 07:34:28 AM
My favorite strategy is to grow bitcoin by way of daily trading, because with daily trading you can make a small profit every day.
I have no qualms with day trading but I think it is not worth it if it is the only way you are going to grow your bitcoin, you can also use a small portion of it in investing and use another for emergency fund. In my opinion, investing is the safest way you can grow your bitcoin though there will be scams that you are going to encounter and that is up to the individual's common sense and ability to detect red flags, the emergency fund is just a fickle thing that I though of because I know that when times are tough it is worth it that we have something that we can spend.
4225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New documentary: Bitcoin Revolution in Africa on: May 22, 2020, 03:01:58 AM
This kind of documentary is an eye-opener in the oppurtunities that bitcoin is showcasing, in my opinion Africa is a hot bed for cryptocurrency revolution because most governments in Africa is either corrupt or they can't control the inflation of prices thus making the public lose their trust, with all the genocide and civil wars from the continent, we can only assume that scar will surely be a testament of most African government. The good thing about cryptocurrency being introduced in Africa is that most of them are open to changes and most of the countries have a gist of what is cashless transaction.
4226  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Covid self-test on: May 21, 2020, 01:29:36 PM
I'm a chronic smoker who lives ice cream but can't handle dairy. I guess I've got the covid.
The test does not ensure a guaranteed result, this kind of thing will make things worse because you will have false-positive result that may result in endangering other people. Remember that there are people who are asymptomatic which means that they are not displaying any signs that they are infected and this self conducted test will make things worse. Like what the quote says above, there might be a lot of factors that are needed to eliminate in order to get an accurate result, but at this time, we still do not know much about the virus that can help in making these tests accurate and credible, we may still use online consultation with a real doctor but right now, automated self testing is not yet a viable option.
4227  Other / Politics & Society / Re: should china be punished for Bullying Countries? on: May 21, 2020, 11:35:21 AM
They should really be punished. Especially taking advantage by doing misdeeds while the whole world is focused on the coronavirus outbreak. They should be held accountable on their doings. For example in the Philippines, while the PH won the arbituary, China still has the audacity to announce its new islands namely the Nansha Islands not to mention in the midst of the outbreak. Atleast, all the other nations should do an investigation for transparency about the virus and china's bullying to other countries.
No matter how much we cry for punishment, China will be an unstoppable jugernaut and they will not be fazed by sanctions, to be clear I am no supporter but I know when things will never go our way, imagine if the sanctions were to be committed and China was ever to be punished, they will blacklist the countries that voted for the sanction and for the record China has a large population and losing China as a customer will be a big economic blow to the ones that will be targeted. China knows this and uses it to leverage favors from companies and countries. We also should consider that China has a planted its roots around the world and uprooting them for punishment will cause a blow to many countries.
4228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin price drops is a buying opportunity? on: May 21, 2020, 10:17:13 AM
It's pretty simple. Do you personally think that bitcoin will be worth more than that sometime in the future? If you think it will, then buy, regardless if it drops more or not. If you think it won't go up in the future, then don't buy. It's that simple.
I think this quote is something that everyone should consider, I don't mean to just follow this advice but it can help in making a decision, in the end, you will be the one who will make the decision.

By the way, my thoughts on buying dips is that you should assess yourself, are you looking for a quick buck? If yes, then you might decide not to buy that dip because that dip might plummet even lower. On the other hand, dips in the prices can be an oppurtunity for you to buy at lower prices and wait for the prices to go up and then at that time, you will gain considerable amount of profit if you plan to sell it. If you do not know when to sell then you can set a mental note that at this price you are going to sell it, that is what I am doing, I am still a student so I do not need the profit ASAP.

Remember that the decision will always fall in your hands, you might not follow all of this and that is okay, this advices are just mere testimonials on our experience, so no pressure.
4229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can develop low cost electric power, what are my options on what to do with it on: May 21, 2020, 09:02:03 AM
I suggest moving this topic to the Mining[1] section, your topic is probably going to get more replies and attention there.

The move topic option is on the lower left side of this page.

You should do as mk says. In my opinion you can use it to raise funds to distribute it to communities and sell it at a lower price, yes you will get lower profit but the cost of your production should justify the price you are trying to sell these power source. One thing I want to ask is is this the same as a generator? Because if you can create a powerful, cheaper and efficient version of what is in the market right now means that you can sell it at higher prices because that will be popular and it will be a quick sell, the problem with that though is the logistics and the funds because there will be a lot. Heed my advice and find investors if you want to go further with your inventions.
4230  Economy / Economics / Re: The Rise of Biotech Firms: Moderna's 'fast-tracked' Success on: May 21, 2020, 04:31:18 AM
Is it ethical to let people die because they don't have the $$$? To treat people in rich countries instead those in poor countries? This crisis is shining a bright light on some of the questionable ethical standards that underpin the modern world.
I do not think that pharmaceutical companies will benefit from the development of the vaccine because there will be chaos that will surely ensue when that happens, this will be distributed like polio, measles, flu vaccines. The best case scenario that can happen is the vaccine is distributed to all people as I hope so, the worst case is government will use it for political leverage to make them good in the picture. In the case of pharmaceutical companies growing in the stock market, they will benefit from the virus but not financially, when all of this is over then that is when people realize the importance of health and this companies will develop new medicines and treatments that will engage consumers to buy.
4231  Economy / Economics / Re: The unfortunate event that is Quarantine. on: May 20, 2020, 08:04:37 AM
That is why the government needs to step in.
We shouldn't rely too much on the government that we end up doing nothing for ourselves, we need to find ways to make sure that we can put food on the table, the government focuses on utilitarian policies and that is the reason that they are having a hard time to decide what to do to prevent tipping the scale that will lead to chaos. We people should learn to fend for ourselves at the time of crisis. This is the most overlooked problem by the masses because they are theone causing it and you know what they say, people are blind for their causes.
4232  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Taxes and Cost of Transfer on: May 20, 2020, 07:08:29 AM
Sounds very much like a scam.

Maybe it's different in the UK, but that would be the first time that I've heard of a crypto exchange getting involved in the taxation process. Individual crypto-investors usually have the responsibility to self-report taxable events.

And as already mentioned by gentlemand, withdrawal fees are usually in the single digits.
That is a very big red flag, I hope you will return to this thread and do not ever comply to that. 300£ is a lot in my country, also wouldn't it be strange if they are asking for a raw numbers for withdrawals and not percentage of the amount you are trying to withdraw. Can you also plug the site and post it here so people can check out the credibility of the site, I know it is too much to ask but if it can help in preventing people getting scammed then please do plug the site and many people will thank you and many will be saved from these scammers if they really are scammers.
4233  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: May 20, 2020, 05:09:48 AM
yes nowadays every exchange wants to verify KYC and we don't know where they sent our private information. as you know how these exchange hacked and the public all private information. it is advised to do proper research before doing KYC. if not required
don't do it. it may lead to security concerns. many exchanges that allow using their platform without KYC ex. kucoin , Binance, Huobi, hitbtc etc..
KYC is there to prevent the chances that their site would be used for illegal activities, in my honest opinion, I do not mind sharing my information to comply to their terms and services, we do not have much choice though because they have been established for too long, in fact, why should we get scared with KYC when everyday we share our activities in social media, that is pretty hypocritical having to share your personal life in social media while not approving of KYC when it is needed. Also, why would they ask for KYC if they do not have a secure site?
4234  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why has not any government stopped Bitcoin? on: May 20, 2020, 04:09:05 AM
There is a very simple answer...People put their assets into this, they believe in it more and more, even today when its very hard to invest your money in pandemic-proof business and that's why. the most important thing in this case is people and nothing more.I think this is the measure of person's liberty and bitcoin has already proved its safety.
What he is saying is the very reason that the government should take measures to stop bitcoin altogether, maybe the reason for the governing bodies not stopping bitcoin is that they believe that it is a solution in development and they are trying to figure out how to harness and benefit from it. We will never know how the governments truly wants, but I think they see the same thing that a normal person can see and they are just calculating the risk whether it would outweigh the rewards or not. Ulterior motives have been around since the dawn of humanity and we can never comprehend.
4235  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Okay. Charge tax on bitcoin. Is this fair policy? on: May 20, 2020, 02:43:36 AM
This is a hard compromise for bitcoin, if we want it to take a step further then I think this is a necessary action to do. I can imagine government taking actions to crack down many cryptocurrencies when they are not willing to compromise, this kind of scheme has been done to many businesses, I don't know much about law and politics but I think that having the government on the good side of things is the most favorable thing for cryptocurrency industry to advance, many will resist these changes and many will witness things.
4236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: App with a map of nearby people willing to trade bitcoin? on: May 19, 2020, 09:43:02 AM
Besides maps of Bitcoin ATMs worldwide, I don't think such app/website exists. If we ever had one, I don't think much people will be willing to plot their location on the map as it would be a nightmare in terms of privacy and personal security.
That is actually a pretty scary app concept, on the other hand you can ease the trading but on the other side the problem is much bigger because it can be used by thiefs and robber to steal bitcoin directly from other people. I think the risk is bigger than the reward, our society has already been integrating authority to further invade our privacy and this is another of those bridges that will make all people live in an Orwellian society. We shouldn't treat trading bitcoin through personal means like looking a parking space to create an app.
4237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safe with bitcoin? on: May 19, 2020, 08:15:05 AM
This is a great option to make my money kept safe
Crypto payments in my country is not a viable option for most people, though there are a lot of people who use cash-less transaction apps, some of them support crypto but most people never bat an eye when it comes to that. In my opinion, information dissemination about the advantages of cryptocurrency transaction still needs to go a long run. We also should consider that cryptocurrency community is very small. This time of crisis is an oppurtunity to make face for bitcoin as a revolutionary technolgy when it comes to finance but there are hurdles that bitcoin as a whole must surpass. The biggest is the established financial institutions and the government, they must overcome these overlords to make that it will run a smooth progress.
4238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling issues? Read this! on: May 19, 2020, 06:30:06 AM
I don't know that there's really some hotlines regarding issues with gambling, I always think about depression and other forms of addiction but in terms of gambling, I believe what you just need is a caring wife that will remind you to stop or limit your gambling activities. Believe me or not, they are the one that knows your limits. But there are times that when wives are providing their recommendations, they often misunderstood by their husband, thus, their relationship fades. So if you really want to prevent things getting worst, you need to act upon yourself, and have an initiative to stop when you think that you already reached your limit.
This kinds of hotlines are not really popular because few people see gambling addiction as a problem and the addicts are too afraid to accept that they are addicted to gambling and they are also afraid to get help because they fear judgment from other people, this kinds of stigma and prejudice is what is keeping this hotlines so rare that hearing them for the first time surprises us. In relation to the fact that these hotlines are rare, the quote above takes the cake for the better alternative, a strong emotional support. The relation to the addict does not matter as long as you are there to help them and rehabilitate then you are making a big impact to them. I know that gambling addiction is a problem all around the world and I think familial support is the best thing that you can get. Individual should also change their attitude towards people that are having problems, this is the biggest obstacle they have to face and that is to be accepted again to the community they belong.
4239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a spreadsheet for you wins and losses for tax purposes? on: May 19, 2020, 05:37:06 AM
I did not do this, because my country does not have strict tax rules
tax is indeed an obligation but not in all countries have strict rules, maybe in your country, you must record your wins and losses in the spreadsheet for tax purposes, you are very tax-obedient
We have similarities in terms of tax rules, in my country there is no need for each individual, we do not have that much tax for gambling but I guess in every country, once you start getting money and you are not declaring it then the tax bureau in my country will raise some eyebrows in your direction. In my opinion, you don't have to keep a spreadsheet for that, I think there should be some kind of exemption present in your country. Do not worry about that as long as you are not getting your money from illegal activities, unless gambling and cryptocurrency in your country is illegal then you might have a problem at hand.
4240  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Easiest Way For New Traders To Profit From The Crypto Market on: May 19, 2020, 03:53:01 AM
It could be easy for you when you are been in trading and knows anything already about trading. But don't you dare you to think that they learn it quickly and think that it is easy to start.
There is no formula for a perfect always profitting trade, nobody has that, the testimonials are subjective and the results of the same way differs from individual to individual. The best thing an expert trader can do is to have their blogs and lectures to beginners tackle the technical stuff rather than having the their whole story about how they began trading, in my opinion that is a complete waste of time, sure we value experience but if all that they discuss is their experience then it will gradually get stale. As an aspiring trader, I would rather learn the technicals rather than testimonials.
