1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This forum has so many gambling addicts on: March 09, 2019, 04:58:17 PM
If this forum were embracing drug addiction, don't you think it wouldn't look as good?
I would not put drugs and gambling on the same page.

Once you are a drug addict you are harming your body and mind. You are taking substance but a gambling addict is harming his mind. The physical affect is less here.

You can not take drug just for fun but you can gamble for fun.

Anyway, there will be many more difference. Point is gambling addict and drug addict is not the same in my eyes.
That's complete BS. They're both addictive, but just because gambling doesn't have an immediate physical effect doesn't mean it's less harmful. Both addictions can severly ruin your life.

2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 365 day 100$ trading challenge. 80% profits in less than a month!!!! on: January 29, 2019, 02:55:38 PM
Have you heard about Xena Exchange? It’s a next gen crypto exchange with a superior trading terminal, extremely low latency with 1 Mil orders per second passthrough, proprietary trading signals and a market barometer, giving you access to advanced market analytics and quality news feed on one page. Margin trading is coming next month with up to x100 leverage, along with perpetual contacts for top currencies. I highly recommend this exchange, made by professionals for professionals.
http://xena.exchange/about/terminal?utm_source=btt&utm_medium=mailing

And why would one use this exchange over an established exchange such as Binance that has millions of dollars in volume on a daily basis? The 1 million orders per second passthrough means nothing if there's next to no volume.

If you're not too greedy and stick with a 1% target per trade you'll be able to achieve the goal easily.

I see you are only trading bitcoin with tether so far, is that the only plan for the whole year or will you enter altcoin trading too? because based on that the result can be very different. it can be a lot higher than the goal that you have currently set or it can be a lot lower than your current balance depending on how capable you are of riding the pump and dump waves in the chaotic altcoin ocean (market)!

this is an encouraging act though, keep it up and good luck.

I believe he mentioned he will be opening a btc account as well so I'm guessing he will start trading alt pairs more frequently. I think the choatic altcoin ocean becomes a whole lot less choatic if your goal is 1% per trade.

Interested to see where this goes. It has been a while since we've had 6 consecutive green candles on the daily.

Next resistance is at 4.2k, probaly gonna go up a bit more Smiley

Funny how sentiment can change so quickly  Wink

Are we going to $4,000 boys? It sure feels like the bear is dead! Is this the part in the cycle where the majority bitches that this is a fools rally? Because it sure feels like it!

Won't even be that surprised if that would end up happening to be fairly honest. Would be insane to end the year on a positive note, great momentum going into Q1 of 2019. Bullish.

The odds are pretty high that a hacker made that post. In fact someone on Reddit even said that his email was hacked several years ago because the domain he used went down and someone else took it over.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are Close To The Bottom: on: November 29, 2018, 06:34:34 PM
This would mean that one entire unpleasant year for the markets is still ahead of us.
On another hand this would also mean that the next ATH should be over 300k. Hmmm...
How is more accumulation time unpleasant? I'm confident that the next ATH will piss on the $20,000 mark, but where it ends up peaking remains to be seen. In other words, buy as many coins as possible.

I am still nowhere near I want to be in terms of my position for the next bull run so I really don't mind the market taking it's time to rebound after this bear market. That quick bounce after that steep drop is certainly a good sign but not get ahead of ourselves. Lots of people also predicted a bottom at $6,000 and $4,000 and look where that weant.

Fact of the matter remains that nobody knows 'the bottom' and I have long given up on trying to guess it.

Hoi Iedereen!

I do not think that trading is just like gambling, there are now very good trading signals to find online which can make the best possible profit from cryptocurrencies. I myself use the signals from verwijderde link. Here you have 89% chance of a successful trade!

If you are looking for a list of good trading signals, I recommend looking at verwijderde link! They have a 89% success rate (as far as I know the highest) and this has already yielded many profitable trades. They also have a telegram group that you can follow: verwijderde link Goodluck Smiley

I think it is never possible to determine whether Bitcoin or other altcoins will become a success in the future. Investing in bitcoin in the long term will therefore always remain a gamble. I do think that it is still possible to get a nice income with the trading of bitcoin / other coins. If you have the right trading signals within reach, gaining profit is not difficult. I myself use verwijderde link for my trading signals. They have a 89% success rate so good enough to still make money from cryptocurrencies Smiley

I do not hold coins myself at the moment, I am also more of a direct trader. I personally think that with direct trading, there is more profit to be gained. Have you ever used trading signals yourself? I use the trading signals from verwijderde link. Approximately 90% of my trades are profitable due to their Smiley

En zo kan ik nog een tijdje doorgaan...

I just leave this photo here:
-snip-

Classic Mourinho  Grin

Juventus dominated today totally, but it was enough for United to play something similar to football in last 10 minutes to win this game. Mourinho football at it's finest.
And what a performance by Manchester City - 6:0 against Shakhtar. They managed to beat quite decent team in amazing style without important players like Aguero and de Bruyne

I still have to watch the replay of the Shakhtar game but damn what a machine city is at the moment. The depth that this City team has is honestly something else. If they manage to hold onto this form and don't suffer too many injury blows throughout the season I feel like they're big contenders for this year's treble.

How can people believe in this kind of scheme? if someone did that kind of scheme then that person would be running a ponzi scheme, and I doubt any celebrity or anyone famous would do such a thing. Then I ask the same question again: why the hell do people fall into scams like these? The only answer that comes in my head is: greed

I really don't think it's only greed, sure it can be a big factor especially when it comes to crypto scams, but I feel like there are more factors to this matter such as inexperience or gullibility. I often times cringe when my (grand)parents ask me whether an obvious scam site is real or not, or contract a virus to their pc that could've been avoided quite easily. These are all honest intellectual people who are simply inexperienced with all these threats out there.

If you ask me, Twitter should be held accountable for this. I mean if it's really that easy to manipulate a blue-ticked account than its about time they think about their security. Once I saw a similar thing happening on Facebook, I reported that account and I haven't seen something like this again on facebook at least. I believe Facebook manually reviews a name change request of the account and you have to re-verify your Identity afterwards. It's about time these platforms should be held accountable too. They get away too often if you ask me. Yeah you can argue people are dumb, greedy whatever. But if you tell me that I can change a blue-tick account to impersonate a celebrity and get away with it than I think people should really think about what kind of pathetic platform they are on.

Exactly this! Especially those who are responsible for auditing the advertisements launched on their platform (if audits are even taking place in the first place!). A platform's number one concern should be their users and if they're exposing their users to such a blatant scam then I feel like you're equally (if not more) responsible for the way this scam has turned out.
13  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-06] Electric Bike Runs on Lightning Network on: November 07, 2018, 09:16:47 PM

No, I am not.

I figured. But that was not the impression you gave me by your statement.

$5 a month or $10 in the case of premium aren't much. People would still prefer a sort of subscription at this point range.

That's relative, for us westerners it's not a lot but for other people it might be. Heck if I'm paying $120 annually for a service that I only want to use a couple times per year I'd rather get myself a ppm plan and use the money saved to take my girlfriend somewhere nice for dinner. Also this ppm plan is just me brainstorming in context of micro payments on LN not me coming up with the most useful way for the general public to consume premium content based on the LN.

I mean this sort of pay-per-minute model makes sense in developing countries where they live off on $2-$3 per day. But if you are targetting that sort of an audience you won't be getting anything out of it.

What exactly is that even supposed to mean? What is it that we're supposed to get out of our audience? I don't think we're trying to get anything out of anyone with concepts like these. Isn't that the whole point of LN, making small transactions instant and cheap for everyone across the globe?

The same concept can be applied for music streaming services like Spotify.

I don't see how this will be useful. You can hear to the full version of the song on youtube before making the decision of buying it.

Based off of this statement you're giving me the impression that you are questioning paid music streaming in general and not the potential integration of micro payments backed by the LN (?). As of June 2018 Spotify reportedly has 83 million paid subscriptions (https://www.statista.com/statistics/244995/number-of-paying-spotify-subscribers/) and this number only seems to be increasing. You also have to take in consideration that not all songs are available on YouTube (or not in the same audio quality).

The way is Spotify works is the following: upon paying a monthly subscription fee you are granted access to a grand library of songs and additional services. So you don't really have to purchase an individual song. A pay-per-minute model could prove to be a lot more cost effective for users who don't use the service that frequently. Instead of paying the full subscription fee every month they could only pay for the time listened per month.

I mean there are use cases for LN for sure but we also have to look at how convenient they are. Imagine watching a movie and your balance runs out. You will have to load up your cold wallet and make a transaction to your hot wallet and then continue watching the movie. This could ruin many moments.

In theory you could also use the concept I described above but that doesn't mean it will be useful for the average consumer as you pointed out. Especially the topping up off the hot wallet could prove to be a bottleneck point.

The same applies to Arthur Hayes who constantly comes up with new price forecasts.

But does the same actually apply to Arthur Hayes though? I might be wrong but we mustn't forget that Hayes is running one of the biggest crypto exchanges in the world right now. Therefore he could potentially be pushing his agenda and specifically for Bitmex that would be attracting high volume. Because if bitcoin goes up, he makes money, if the price goes down, he still makes money. For him it's more a matter of maintaining a high level of liquidity. Hayes is a very intelligent man, he's proved that over the past year so I feel like he knows what he's trying to do, in contrast to many others. That's also one of the reasons why I like to take his predictions with a serious grain of salt. 5 months ago (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BRsq9hlBOQ) he was convinced that bitcoin would hit 50,000 USD by the end of the year and all of a sudden his prediction has gone down to 2,000 USD.
17  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-06] Electric Bike Runs on Lightning Network on: November 07, 2018, 02:36:51 PM

Micro transactions can even be used for streamed content providers. A hypothetical scenario would be to pay per second of viewing for instance. How many times have you rented a video online and started watching it and then decided that it was crap and then stopped watching it. <You had to pay the full amount for the content, but you just watched like 30% of it.  Roll Eyes>

The pay-per-use concept is exactly what micro payments was meant for and this is ideal for the Lightning Network.  Wink

That's a very interesting use case you're proposing right there, something that I didn't think of from the top of my head. The same concept can be applied for music streaming services like Spotify.  Would be awesome to see companies like Netlfix and Spotify offer 'flex'-plans to their users based on micro payments in the near future. Not only will consumers get more value for money but I feel like it will attract a new audience to these services. Either way it's a win-win for both parties.

I wonder if there is anyone who placed their bets on Red Star Belgrade to win the match in full time against Liverpool? I believe this would be one of the most shocking match result today, as Red Star Belgrade have beaten Liverpool with a scoreline of 2-0, I guess there should be a lot of gamblers who have lost their money on this match by supporting Liverpool.

I checked the odds before the game and they were 17 to 1.02 or something. I am a Liverpool supporter myself but for some reason I felt I had to bet against Liverpool on this game. It's really weird because I felt it coming (I didn't actually commit to place a bet because I don't bet and I am not going to bet against my club for money). I watched portions of the game and we honestly didn't bring enough to the table, our attack looked very bleak and our midfield was not what it should've been. I'm not sure what got into the boys, perhaps the incredible atmosphere in the packed stadium. Either way I feel like these are 3 important points gone. The game against Napoli at Anfield is a must win and we should at least get a draw in paris to ensure we don't get eliminated.
19  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: Blockchain integratie in Nederlandse Bedrijfsleven on: November 06, 2018, 07:09:48 PM

20  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [06/11/2018] Bull Call: Novogratz Says Bitcoin Will See Record Highs in 2019 on: November 06, 2018, 06:44:47 PM
Frankly speaking im tired with these so-called famous personalities price predictions.

And so am I. These predictions are not helping the space move forward in any way shape or form other than add to the speculation. I even believe he predicted bitcoin to hit 40k by the end of 2018 last year. So at this point it's anyone's guess what the price of bitcoin will be at the end of the year, and being a famous banker or politician doesn't make your prediction more likely to become reality.
