3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: November 19, 2017, 01:52:23 PM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.
Yes you can really use bitcoin in college , it would really help you a lot. I am sure that in the coming months, Bitcoin can be a part of the discussions in many classrooms. Now, instead of focusing more on Bitcoin, what should be discussed is the technology behind Bitcoin which we all know is Block chain Technology. I think that is the game changer of this whole thing and it can be applied in so many industries and can even be applied in schools.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still buy Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2017, 01:16:30 PM
Hey guys. I was asking my self "Should I buy Bitcoin now? What if it's gonna go down after I buy?". What do you think? Should I buy or wait?

Usually you want to wait for a dip before you buy. However, sometimes it's still a good idea to buy if you think a rally is about to break out. Do research, see what smart traders are saying on twitter for a little help. Try analyzing the charts. Personally, I think it will break 8000 and go up to 8500+ within a week. I still would rather buy Eth though, I think it has more room to make gains.
Yes I would still buy bitcoin, Everyone has to make that decision for themselves. No advice will not help you. In order to use bitcoin you need internal beliefs. Bitcoin is not just currency. Bitcoin is the ideology of building a new free society and a just economy. Therefore, each must decide for yourself alone and the price of bitcoin is irrelevant. The price is a bonus. The prize is freedom.I think bitcoin is something that i can really use in the future.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin does not have limited supply on: November 19, 2017, 01:10:28 PM
You are right partially as there is no limit to the prices of Bitcoin. Currently it says 21 million but more and more will mined and the limit will keep increasing . Then comes the price of Bitcoin . Who expect the prices of Bitcoin to rise upto 10 times the price past year. Infact now it's even more and there are many predictions which say that Bitcoin can easily cross 10k by the end of this year.
Yes bitcoin does not have a limited supply because many people are supporting bitcoin nowadays, BTC have finite supply of 21 million coins and that is a fact which is very well known.I do not know why you think that some alt coin which have "bitcoin" in his name can change total number of coins. Most of that alt coins even with "bitcoin" in their names will simply disappear over time. There is always a option to increase total number of BTC,but I think nobody wants to that happen. One of the reasons why BTC is most popular crypto currency is his limited supply among other things, and 1000 more new coins on market will not change anything.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Under Attack Stay Strong on: November 16, 2017, 02:14:31 PM
Care to explain what is actually here? It seems to me that there is some sort of a silent panic happening all over the Bitcoin holders worldwide. Some are listening to the FUD that Bitcoin is about to die and be replaced by Bitcoin Cash soon...how true can that be? This is one of the most uncomfortable times to be in cryptocurrency where people in the same industry are killing each other...oh I forgot it is all about greed and opportunism...we are still dogs anyway!
I don't think any of this is really being perpetuated by FUD, I'd be more inclined to believe a lot of the market happenings are because of the pump for BCH (which is having its own fork iirc and they're trying to pump it so it stays relevant, along with take a ton of money in the process). There was a selloff of BTC, followed by the BCH pump, I have a feeling the two are closely related and a lot of whales were the cause of the market movements. There isn't anything else that would have caused the market to experience a downturn, of course, unless my predictions of a correction finally happening were true.

Still positive from where it was before though. It's not like Bitcoin is in the negatives, and this very well may have been a bubble.
You need not to worry even though bitcoin is under attack. You just have to stay strong, This is what is killing bitcoin and ethereum could replace bitcoin's market cap.  The uncertainty of bitcoin or bitcoin cash as the replacement has miners going from verifying bitcoins to bitcoin cash, and it is creating a spike in bitcoin cash's price.  I thought that bitcoin would be her to stay, which is more than likely, but it shouldn't have to worry about bitcoin cash taking over a majority of miners while bitcoin is waiting for transactions to clear.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some disadvantages of BTC? on: November 12, 2017, 02:50:49 PM
Here are some that I can think of on the top of my head:

  • It's volatility in price. Hence holding your funds entirely on bitcoin is a huge risk despite the advantages.
  • Very unsafe for careless and technologically-illiterate people. Logging in to a phishing link? Say goodbye to your exchange's funds. Forgot to list down your wallet's seed? Say goodbye to you wallet's funds.
  • Unable to operate offline or non-electronically. This is a downside on more on the 3rd world countries, whereas most poor people can't even afford smartphones or any device that can hold bitcoin.
  • Not-so-good transaction fees and time. Transaction fees and times are definitely alot better now compared to months ago, but I still remember the days when txs were almost instant, with very very low fees.
  • My personal opinion: The name "bitcoin". I personally think it sounds like something a person involved in pyramid schemes and Ponzi scams would use.

This here pretty much are all my personal concerns as well, apart from the last point. I think that bitcoin is a perfectly fine name and i don't know why you would associate that with some sort of pyramid scheme at all.

But, volatility and bitcoin being very technical are problems that will be solved as it moves along into the future. More applications such as exodus will simplify the user experience of bitcoin, and as more merchanst accept bitcoin its value will stabilize naturally.
Yes there are some disadvantages in bitcoin, but you may take it as positive, I believe so. As far as I know,I'm not having troubles in using bitcoin now. In fact,my goals are slowly achieved. Maybe there is a small factor that I may consider it as disadvantage and that is the indirect cash but it's only a small issue but there is a purpose on that and I know it's for security. All in all I like the way bitcoin caters to people and soon it will pump more and more in the future and a number of people are trusting of bitcoin. Consequently , we won't be neglected in the society or in the economy.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: November 12, 2017, 02:44:27 PM
That might be true. But I do not believe Ethereum will be able to hold their gains for long. Sooner or later the price has to go down simply because that is what markets do.

So always remind yourself not to get lost in the mania and try to stay objective. In a market like this, it is easy to think that the good days will never end.
I think bitcoin would be number one for so long because many people are happy with bitcoin and are supporting bitcoin. I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price are you going to start buying bitcoin again? on: November 12, 2017, 02:20:36 PM
I had a limit order in at $5520 but I've just taken it off because the price is falling so quickly.   I want to increase my stash of BTC but want to be able to buy as much as possible.

If it goes through $5000 I think it could well go to 4300
I would rather start bitcoin with a low price, and start buying bitcoin again and again.Just don't buy because the price is falling however just wait until the bottom. You can buy bitcoin again after the price decrease stop and it indicate an uptrend. If you buy at, let us say $5520 and the price still decreasing you will money for sure. Unlike if you buy at uptrend.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to get involved into Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2017, 02:09:53 PM
Even now, bitcoin is still rising more and more despite they drop drastically yesterday, bitcoin still have the greatest influence to me and to investors no matter how low they drop, and it is predicted to rise more than 10000 at next year, so it will never too late to invest in bitcoin now.
I think it is not too late to get involved in bitcoin, because now is the time that you can be involved. there is nothing too late engaging on btc investment as long as you have the guts to take risk of either having profit of thousand bucks or losing. Well btc price now might be too huge compare when its just starting but who knows it may multiply hundred folds more. It would really help you a lot.

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: November 12, 2017, 02:04:00 PM
How difficult would it be to implement a voting system for posts using the current forum software?

That would lead to  a large scale of moderation which would limit free speech as opposed to nudging posts towards civility and relevant content with a given group.

I still believe that the large pools should have their own subgroups Smiley
The forum moderation policy is very good. One point though; I think that you should remove "uninteresting" since that is completely subjective and there is no way an honest post can avoid it (readers determine interest, not the poster).  I think that "pointless" covers it well and is much more objective within the context of a group and easily covers "intentionally uninteresting. It is so nice and helpful that bitcoin is so amazing and so awesome.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does Bitcoin work for online shopping? on: November 11, 2017, 02:39:42 PM
When you buy something on eBay or Amazon, you pay the seller, he ships the product and upload a tracking number.
If you haven't received the item, you can call eBay or Amazon and, basically, what happens is that if they have a tracking number that shows that the item has been delivered, then it is ok, otherwise eBay or Amazon reverses the transaction and you get your money back.
Is that possible with bitcoin? What if I buy a boat online for 2 bitcoins and I never receive it? Is bitcoin able to solve this problem?

Thanks
Yes bitcoin really works for online shopping. You can pay your online payments using bitcoin. yes we can here in philippines we have wallet with exchanger called coins.ph and its have card you can use it in shopping but you need first to verified it,i think if we have in our country im sure in other country also try to search in your own country im sure there's a lot but you need to study it first if its legit. It is really essential to many people.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: November 11, 2017, 02:24:18 PM
Bitcoin is changing the way we live.
Bitcoin is changing the way we do business.
Bitcoin is changing the way we travel and save our assets.
Bitcoin and blockchain technology has open new doors for people to do business with one another without the intervention of third parties.

What do you make of this, huh? Share with us what you think. thanks Smiley

Yes bitcoin is really changing the world. I think cryptocurrencies are fantastic for bypassing the corrupt banking system. However, I think one of the problems with cryptocurrencies in the future will be that very few people will have them or will be priced out of the market because they have risen so much. I was wondering what the solution to the problem is and thought a cryptocurrencies that has an inbuilt universal basic income would mean it would reach more of the human population. Bitcoin has the ability to change people and the whole world.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is falling, But don't worry! on: November 11, 2017, 02:07:15 PM

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I trade my BTC for BCH? on: November 11, 2017, 01:59:18 PM
Hi,

I'm new here. Bought in to bitcoin at £5100, sold at £6050, then bought back in at £5400, but it seems to be dropping.

Should I trade all my BTC for BCH on the short term or is it too late to get in to BCH?

BCT seems to be losing me money by the minute.

Thanks.
If you would ask me if I should trade bitcoin for BCH, I am worried about this usual tendency in many traders to react emotionally as soon as they see an abnormal movement of the markets. That's why it's always recommended to have a long-term plan to manage your investments without the pressure of the sudden swings that are frequently observed in the markets. If you are convinced of the inherent value of bitcoin, you should keep it in spite of the fact that there is now an important movement in Bitcoin Cash. I think it is really crucial.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: November 11, 2017, 01:49:36 PM
Bitcoins has regained its strong value, As of this posting, the value per 1 bitcoin is exactly 4786.59 US Dollar.   Soon we will see more ways people can squeeze the most out of bitcoins.   Since the advent of the internet to be profit oriented in the 90's, no one would possibly have imagined that the Internet would breed Facebook, Google, Uber, online streaming, etc. This is where we are with the Blockchain now. There exists a whole world of opportunities out there.

These opportunities have the unrighteous users of this cryptocurrencies to also used its advantage. We cannot deny for a fact that cyber crimes have been committed since the birth of the internet.  Once, stealing was done with having guns, now, robbers can easily hack bank accounts or counterfeit credit cards to their advantage.  Sooner, cryptocurrencies can be used to pay crimes such as services for creating counterfeit birth certificates and this is not far from happening.  Actually, the US has already cases on this matter.

Another is the crime of buying illegal-drug emporium that used Bitcoin as a medium of exchange, politicians and policymakers took notice. Criminals, it turns out, really like bitcoins, which can be exchanged for nefarious purposes on the "Dark Web," with complete anonymity and, it seems, impunity.

Although, there are some articles that i have read regarding criminals cannot hide behind bitcoins, still, there are difficulties tracing transactions using cryptocurrencies. That is why law enforcement agencies should have a to change their procedures to pursue criminals who make use of the latest technology to commit crimes. Let the law find a way to evolve to address new tech challenges. There is no reason to expect that law enforcement won’t be able to get a handle on this new cybercrime.
Bitcoin is really so successful now, and bitcoin is widely used by many people. Bitcoins have always been used for crimes. You can look back and see for yourself ie. Silkroad. I doubt that's going to change anytime soon, but that shouldn't be a reason for people not to accept Bitcoins. I see people who make this argument all the time. You can make the same argument that USD has been used for crimes, but that doesn't stop people from not using it. It is very good for all people.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin even have a future? on: November 11, 2017, 01:33:31 PM
Now that I've gotten your attention, I promise there's a method to my madness. We've all been arguing over Bitcoin XT and (now) Bitcoin Classic while ignoring that there's a real world outside of Bitcointalk and the endless schemes to get more Bitcoin. In the grand scheme of things, it's not even really all that important whether Bitcoin stands a chance of destroying traditional banks as long as Bitcoin or whatever replaces Bitcoin if it stumbles can carve out its own niche. But we're marching toward a world where things are going to be moving pretty fast in matters that don't necessarily have to do with economics and finances, except for maybe who's going to be holding the moneybags. Is it going to be us, or is it going to be the big banks, or is it going to be some Third World tyrant who may have gotten a little too big for his britches and doesn't have a graceful way out? What I'm getting at here is, are we absolutely sure we're making all the right strategic moves to make sure cryptocurrencies have a meaningful, sustainable future instead of just being seen as a funny little gimmick that went the way of Beanie Babies in a few decades? Should we be making alliances with other up-and-coming, innovative technologies to make sure we can achieve our long-term goals? This is something we'll have to consider if we want Bitcoin to have any kind of a future.
Bitcoin should even have a very good future. Ofcourse Bitcoin will have a future later. I think Bitcoin will have a good future. But you never know what can happen in the future. The world is becoming more digital and that why I think that Bitcoin will be more worth later and have a good future. Bitcoin is really successful.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why owning 1 BTC becomes harder everyday??? on: November 10, 2017, 03:15:23 PM
Wow, bitcoin price is increasing everyday at lightening speed!

Are you not afraid someday 1 bitcoin will become currency for the rich dudes?

I know we all want to buy and save more bitcoins in pieces, but the way bitcoin price is going are we really going to keep up?

Edit: I'm talking about owning BTC1 or BTC2... I know people can buy satoshis and save in their wallets.

What do you think, guys?
Earning one bitcoin will not really becomes harder everyday. No, I will not be afraid. The rich can of course afford to buy bitcoin but there are so many ways to have it also without investing. So you can always earn in your own decent way. If we are not born with a golden spoon, then we shall try hard to reach our dreams. This is not a race. Never mind the rich people, we too can be rich soon! Bitcoin is a very successful thing.
