The wallet is still valid, but the client needs to be updated

If you're in a deferred position when a block is found, the HERP is added to the next round - and it can effectively double the herp by doing so. If you are in the top 100 with the added herp the next time around you're guaranteed to get paid. If not, you will be in the interleaved group.

All of this shows you are much better off sticking to the one address. You'll get paid more regularly and are more likely to get the full payout with each block find. Additionally it means other miners get a look in sooner so it is nice manners to do so.

Makes perfect sense.  Thanks for explaining.

@ck, I am a little confused.  Not complaining, just trying to understand.

I've changed my mining address around a bit, and for the first time noticed one of my older addresses was deferred.

However, it shows in the top 100 and I thought that the top 100 miners would be paid, and 50 of the smaller deferred payments as well.

33V..Jo8 in position 26 was paid
1Q3..MHD in position 90 was paid
1N9..Ype in position 77 was deferred

So does the worker listing shift around after a block is paid and that is why 1N9 now shows in the top 100 and did not receive a payout from this last block?

solo mining not working?

You can solo mine in the wallet or using cpuminer. You cannot solo mine with a GPU as ccminer doesn't support it.

CPU mining will lead to very small rewards at this difficulty level.
I have the cpu miner and the wallet, but don't see instruction on how to setup the wallet for solo mining?
I dont see a config file for it

Yes it's under 1400W, and a lot quieter too. It will depend on where the most efficient hash/power curve ends up on the device but on the hardware I've tested it on so far it usually ends up around 1300W. So if some are higher power, they should be offset by lower power ones too. I'm talking about power at the wall this time.

How much quieter?

Update on  Rektmining.  I spoke with Dustin this morning. and he gave the following update:

--------------------------------------------------------
The 40th St hosting facility has closed.  They were attempting to work through some problems that ultimately could not get resolved.  They are committed to finding a new facility and has plans to reopen mid-April.

Everyone has 2 options.  Hold until the new facility opens, or he will ship out your miners anywhere you need.  Please contact Rekt for more information.
--------------------------------------------------------

I suggested that he use one of the pages on their site to post status or updates and he will look into that.

@ck

I have some dust (low value derp) mined under an old address that I don't plan on reusing.

Is there any way for miners to donate that to the pool?

Signed message maybe?

17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: February 02, 2018, 04:58:56 AM

Yes of course, its actually turned off at the moment, no point wasting power to mine for someone else. It does appear that they did flash it with a homebrew fw. Nothing I've tried has worked. How can I reflash it? I have a copy of the manufacturer's latest fw, but without login permissions I have no idea how to get it on the controller.

Have you tried using the miner utility from Ebit?

You mean EBitMinerMini... ? Yes of course. Its only really useful to find the machine on the network when you dont know the IP and set DHCP. Nothing else can be set with it. Having the password is everything, and I cant find out how to reset it.

You should also be able to reflash the firmware with it

I could use some help with a sticky situation.

My E9+ got hacked as I was setting it up and the hacker locked me out. Web gui login doesnt work, ssh neither. I managed to telnet into it with admin/admin and saw the hacker's username and pool settings he entered to use the machine to mine in his favor. I managed to do a factory reset from telnet, and the only change I see is the destination pool is now back to the ebit manufacturer's default pool, but passwords etc still not working and have not been reset. I tried holding in the pin hole reset button for 40+ seconds and nothing happens at all.
It seems I can see the status of almost everything throught the telnet commands but I cant set or save anything.
I tried contacting Ebit support and as I expected, no reply.
At this point I am considering buying a used controller on ebay and get it over with.

Any help? I would be happy to give a bitcoin contribution for help to regain access to the controller.

Thanks!

- Jery

So you do have local access to the miner correct? 1st thing you need to do is make sure it is no longer exposed to the Internet. I am assuming you left it open to the Internet as it has been widely reported by hackers that some 2700+ miners have been left wide open. My guess is that they also flashed the firmware to something of their own doing if a factory reset does not help.
