1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POW] [MSR] Masari - private, untraceable, and fungible cryptocurrency on: March 14, 2018, 06:46:01 PM
Looking forward to see how this goes, most devs would kill for fluffy's endorsement and this one has it, don't mess up team. Also, i like this how this project has realistic, believable goals, in opposition to these overly-ambitious projects that pop all the time. Once this gets developed more, hitting a few dots on the roadmap, and hitting bigger exchanges, its primed to boom, i believe.

I agree. From all the other Monero forks, i think Masari might be one to actually pay attention to.

How many h/s does this build generate?

is this going to be available for US investors?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: April 06, 2017, 05:16:32 PM
Can someone please explain the Delegation & voting thing? I went through their website and subreddit, but i'm still left confused.
It's fairly easy... your account balance = your voting weight
300 lisk = 300 votes until your balance changes.
You can vote for 33 people at one time, up to 101 total, and your full weight is cast to all delegates you voted for
To forge a delegate must be at rank 101 or higher.

You should test it by voting for Phoenix1969  Tongue

Very interesting. So what do the delegates have the power to vote for? Can you briefly what forging a delegate means?

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Storj (SJCK) vs. Siacoin (SC) - Discussion on: April 06, 2017, 05:08:12 PM
These two projects, how about adding a third one, that Dotcom followup of megaupload. They mentioned Storj as a component once on their roadmap but the current state of development lags behing everything.
The buzz is back on BTCs to fuel it. That would degrade both beeing second class only.

They are now using some bitcache thingy which is either a fork or a totally useless mechanism. I do not trust someone who does not even know how to use screen recording software for examples lol.

On the main topic, maidsafecoin is fake in my opinion, claiming to be in progress and in beta for years already? No news other than news from bagholders about "Remember maidsafecoin coming out soon, buy your coins! " LOL

For what it's worth, i set up Storj software for renting out hardware and it was a pretty easy process & "noob friendly" in my opinion. As of March 13th, 2017 Storj is out of beta http://blog.storj.io/post/158359154453/storj-comes-out-of-beta

According to this article, Siacoin has been out of Beta since June 2016 http://allcoinsnews.com/2016/06/07/siacoin-surges-as-sia-plans-to-come-out-of-beta/

Quote
On storj, it is much more expensive than siacoin, also less noob friendly.

Sia isnt exactly noob friendly but it is so much easier. And there are inbuilt mechanisms by sia to make prices more or less the same cheap prices even in the long run, with hosts that burn coins actually getting more credibility.
Can you explain a bit more on how Sia isn't exactly noob friendly, but its much easier? I feel like that's a contradicting statement.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Storj (SJCK) vs. Siacoin (SC) - Discussion on: April 05, 2017, 11:55:01 PM
Storj - a decentralized, end-to-end encrypted cloud storage that uses blockchain technology and cryptography to secure your files.
Users act as decentralized cloud nodes essentially.
https://storj.io/index.html

Siacoin - a decentralized cloud storage platform that uses a blockchain to facilitate payments. You can rent storage, get paid host files, mine Siacon, or contribute to the project.

I am not favoring one over another, but am rather more interested in how the community feels about each project. The two projects seem very similar or nearly identical, which has contributed to my confusion in distinguishing one over the other. What are the pros/cons of each?

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GNT] Golem Speculation on: April 05, 2017, 10:12:44 PM
What's still not quite understood though is who was responsible for the 12 million GNT market purchase (2-3 million USD) up and around the 0.00008 level, momentarily taking the price up towards 0.0002.

Difficult to know for sure what the motive is, but presumably they'd be looking to make their money back with a suitable reward at some stage.

I wasn't even aware of this..that's crazy.

Something worth sharing: I was speaking with a colleague on Monday about how he doesn't have time to game on his PC anymore due to numerous reasons, and one thing he mentioned was that he wished there was something that he could make use of his idle hardware rather than sell it away completely. I mentioned Golem to him and explained as best as i could what it was. He remarked that he was surprised that there's not already a well-established company/tech that already does this in todays day & age.

That got me thinking, that this sort of technology, and other technology being built in a decentralized & networked way, will inevitably be developed more & more. Thinking of where the internet is, i can' help but think about the classic Myspace example. You may be the first to build something, but something along the line may (probably) be built that is better in some way (faster/more user friendly/more regionally accessible).
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My Portfolio on: April 04, 2017, 09:26:20 PM
One thing i want to mention is stay away from coins that pumped like crazy like DASH, ETH, MONERO

How is Monero "pumped like crazy"? If anything, its had real organic growth.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 04, 2017, 05:43:44 PM
Can someone explain why/how Monero is/isn't scalable?
