1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Digital Gold?? on: August 07, 2018, 02:37:14 AM
I also do not believe in this digital gold or some gold replacement.  You need to have physical assets on hand like gold/silver.  You must also have fiat (even though its garbage).  Finally you must now in my opinion hold crypto.  It's a brand new asset class which may overtake fiat so you need to be in just in case.
Absolutely bitcoin is digital gold

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin in Southeast Asia be legal? on: July 29, 2018, 04:44:13 AM
Read this: https://cryptoslate.com/how-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrencies-are-transforming-southeast-asia/

Crypto has already begun making an impact in that region. The market there is great for crypto as more people have access to smartphones than to banking services. This in turn has increased the use of mobile payment platforms such as Linepay and Wepay and therefore hints towards the idea that a formidable crypto payment platform will be easily adopted. There is already one exchange platform called omisego that has partnered with Alipay that allows southeast asian crypto enthusiasts to transact in crypto.

We have more info on the omisego platform as well, feel free to check it out: http://[Suspicious link removed]/OmisegoGuide101

Cheers
Yes later or sooner 100% it will be legal
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is best wallet for long term bitcoin holding? on: July 28, 2018, 12:47:13 PM
What is best wallet for long term bitcoin holding? I want to choose one wallet for bitcoin holding. Which one is best and have no bugs and problems? Which one is worse? Which one is easy to instal and easy to use. Which one you just prefer for long term holding.
IN FACT HARDWARE WALLET IS TOO RELIABLE FOR LONG TERM BTC HOLDING, AND SOME REPUTED EXCHANGE ALSO HAVE BEST WALLET LIKE COINBASE, BINANCE, POLONIEX, ETC...
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with my crypto when I die? on: July 28, 2018, 08:37:20 AM
Silly question right? Smiley
Unless there is a backup method or heritage system it obviously vanishes for eternity, but the point was to discover methods that you are aware for avoiding such risks.

Well, it's not a risk, it's a certainty, but there are other risks of losing access to the crypto account aswell.
Some like:
* death... obviously
* house burns down along with hard wallet
* one can accidently loose his cold storage or hard wallet
* maybe other you figure out and I add them

So, what storage do you use to ensure your savings, or what do you think would be the best solution to overcome these risks?

UPDATE: I started this discusion because I can't see a decentralized solution for that, most of the centralized ones are largely known (wills at lawyers, online wallets and so on) but do not meet the security criteria as still imply a trusted party. Better simply handover the private key directly to the inheritant IMO.

What I want to determine is if it IS realy a concern for the comunity or not, and if yes than we can contribute all together to the creation of such a product. But again I realy do think it should be built decentralized and trustless.

UPDATE 2: What do you think of a smart wallet that can release the money to a specified address (inheritant) if the primary owner does not log in for 1 year?
There are some options and solutions to save ur cryptocurrency for ur family after u die.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thailand Legalize Crypto currency on: July 28, 2018, 04:44:36 AM
While there are several nations which are passing laws against crypto world.  Thailand has entered the list of the nations which have legalized crypto currency.  Thailand is mainly dependent on tourism industry.  So I think it is wise decision on t he part of a country where major source of income is from tourism.  So it will attract more tourists to this country.
It will benefit a lot to the country and is healthy signal for the health of Bitcoin family.
Bitcoin boom in asia start from thailand, its amazing

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another bitcoin ETF gets rejection by SEC on: July 27, 2018, 10:59:39 AM
Two days after postponing the decision on Direxion’s Bitcoin (BTC) ETF Proposals and five other bitcoin ETFs filed by NYSE Arca, Inc, SEC has come vicious this time as it shattered the dream of Winklevoss twins of launching a bitcoin ETF. This is the second time in two years that Winklevoss twin’s application has been rejected.

Now all eyes will be on CBOE- SolidX Bitcoin ETF which should be next in line for SEC for approval. Although the precedents that the SEC is setting are not really positive, some experts still believe CBOE application is something that can get approved.

in coming days bitcoin need not any ETF Approval, Bitcoin itself will be huge
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the world’s 6th largest currency on: July 27, 2018, 03:56:24 AM
Bitcoin is the world’s 6th largest currency. These figures are noteworthy, but if the value of a single Bitcoin goes up to $15,000, India’s currency Rupee will pass. Ethereum ranked 17th and Bitcoin Cash ranked 20th. Ripple is located just below 20.
How many years Bitcoin will need to become No.1 ?

It's amazing to see bitcoin as 6th largest currency of world
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency in five years! on: July 26, 2018, 02:47:40 PM
Legendary investor Tim Draper is confident that in five years all will use crypto currency. According to Draper, the technological shift that we can observe now will be more significant than the transition from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age. Answering the question about how he sees the current situation in comparison with the period when he invested in the technologies of web 1.0 and 2.0, he replied that web technologies and transformed the concept of information, while blocking has the potential to transform almost all industries, including government services.
according to me bitcoin will be 100000$ in next five year
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of crypto currency will be bright in India on: July 26, 2018, 08:13:48 AM
Previously Banks in India working under the rules framed by the central bank i.e. Reserve Bank of India ; the banks were instructed not to allow their customers debit their accounts maintained with the banks for purchase of crypto currency.

Against this order; one suit was filed in the Supreme Court of India.  During one hearing the Reserve Bank of India admitted that the instructions were given to check illegal transactions in the country.

Now Bank has admitted that regulation of crypto currency is their necessity.  This admission indicates that transactions will not be restricted but will be regulated.  So again the business will start.  Though final hearing is in September this year.

I am very much positive that Central Government will definitely allow the transactions to take place but definitely will like to impose certain rules and regulations to stop money laundering; terror funding etc. Prime Minister Mr Modi is very much in favour of digitalization of money in India; so future of crypto in India seems very bright.

it will be bright later, some more time will  take for resolve all issues
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep your coins physically secure? on: July 25, 2018, 09:42:54 AM
We're all aware of the risks of keeping our coins on online wallets and exchange wallets, but many of us still keep our coins on our own devices.

Are we keeping our devices secure? Its instinctual to not leave your fiat money wallet unattended in a public place but what about your bitcoin wallet? Are you leaving leaving the laptop you're writing your novel on the table at Starbucks when you go the bathroom? The laptop with your electrum wallet, your life savings.

Where does the line between paranoia and reasonable physical security meet?
We know about physical wallet but almost dont use physical wallet for cryptocurrency, almost put coins in online wallet or exchange wallet
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your investment strategy? on: July 25, 2018, 02:10:10 AM
On Contray, Current market situation is a good entry point for the new comers. It is also a good opportunity to average out your loss if you purchased bitcoin at $18K USD or above.
I think we should go long term and real price movement might happen around 2020.
monthly investment in bitcoin is most profitable strategy for any investor
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we Re-Brand Bitcoin? on: July 24, 2018, 01:28:38 PM
Do you think Bitcoin needs some Rebranding?

Rebranding is the creation of a new look and feel for an established product or company. The usual goal of rebranding is to influence a customer's perception about a product or service or the company overall by revitalizing the brand and making it seem more modern and relevant to the customer's needs.

First off, the name is a bit confusing? - Most people see the name and associate it with some physical coin. The media is also not helping with this

perception, because with every article about Bitcoin, pictures are shown of physical Casascius bitcoins.

The other aspect of Bitcoin that can be rebranded is it's bad reputation that has been built up and shilled up ..over years.

Every company gets to a point where they need to re-think their original goals and future plans... Why not Bitcoin? We have come a long way

since 2009 and making small changes will help us to take this into a new future, without the baggage of the past.

What would the pro's and cons of this be, and also the impact?

Let's discuss  Grin Grin Grin
NO, BITCOIN NEED NOT ANY BRANDING
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that other coins move faster? on: July 24, 2018, 01:18:02 AM
Do you think that Bitcoin has become too slow to compete with the relatively quick alt coins out there? Is it realty competitive to have a slow community rather than a centralised decision making in development?

In other words, does the community effect of decentralisation enough to counterbalance the difficult decision making processes?

Yes some coin move faster in short term than btc. But btc is for long time forever

18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Bitcoin reached its goal? on: July 20, 2018, 12:41:12 PM
I'm not referring to the price of Bitcoin (we all know it's going to be $250,000/coin by 2022), but the goal that it would be a legitimate alternative to inflationary government fiat currencies.  When the altcoin market is examined, it is inextricably linked to the price of Bitcoin.  Where Bitcoin goes, so does the rest of the cryptocurrencies.  There's even somewhat of a dismissive attitude toward other crytpos in some investment circles; strangely this was a similar sentiment held by those "respectable" investors when Bitcoin was in its infancy.

What do you think?  I'd love to hear from some crytpo veterans.

100% sure before 31st march bitcoin make new high

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and altcoin: Who will take control of the market? on: July 19, 2018, 03:39:55 PM
In times of volatility and uncertainty, investors tend to favor one particular crypto that has high liquidity and is stable. At the current time, Bitcoin price trend still dominates the market trend.

However, Bitcoin leading position seems to be doubtable as Altcoins have recorded a stronger rise recently and the market is less affected by Bitcoin. Instead of following the general price trend of bitcoin, many cryptocurrencies also start to follow their own “trajectory”.

This week, the altcoin works much better than both Bitcoin and Ethereum. The added value of the ERC20 tokens and the increasing demand for small cryptocurrencies of investors in the global market has proved that Crypto investors are more confident in betting their money on this market.

Saxo Investment Bank from Danish, with its aim to focus on online trading and investment, has announced in a recent report that the capital inflows from organizations to the Crypto market will lead to a rise in prices for most of these currencies.

Offchurch bitcoin will be lead the market
