CloakCoinScam, its almost laughable that you are claiming you knew bitcoin was going to rocket like this. But you still refuse my question once again,
what coins would you recommend? still can't answer that Buddy, Keep yelling Scam tho

BRO i told u before............ WEEKS ago that the devs DUMPED cloak for BTC!! BITCOIN bro!

THATS ONE COIN I RECOMMEND OK?

They propped up with memes on Twitter and all the open source non-sense.. Enigma this.. Enigma that... etc etc the list goes on.

NOTHING CAME TRUE.

SO BOOM they run off with big large money bags of BTC... dumping CLOAK to all the people who fell for the trap ok?

I told u guys wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in August/September that CLOAK was going under 100K Sats............ we are not sitting at 60K SATOSHI!!! ok?

Of course i will have the guys come in "b-b-b--b-ut it hasn't dropped in USD price!!!!!" Lol if u really think this is a good sign that doesn't mean a thing. IF you held BTC like i told people to you would be up WAY MORE in USD than holding CLOAK......... thats the WHOLE point i was trying to make for weeks now.

Call me a BROKEN CLOCK but guess what.. no one listened. THEY kept falling for false tricks. You CAN see the results of my analysis. CLOAK COLLAPSED while BTC SOARED just like I said. I have posts in this THREAD showing that ok? BEFORE it all happened.

Case closed 4 now.. thx folks.

Thanks man - I got curious and looked at the Cloakcoin Chart in detail and Cloakcoin follows a pattern.  if it doesn't make any sense follow the blue arrows.
The graph tells me that at some point towards Dec 27 or early next year Cloakcoin is hitting $20.00
After seeing this I bought more cloak - Tell me what you think man, as  the graph shows 2018 is shaping up to be a  very good for Cloakcoin .

Note:Between now and early part of next year it can drop as low as $5.5 with worst case being 3.5, but that's the volatility of the market and its all part of the Climb up , so HODL the CLOAKs.

-  CCSCAM if you  haven't picked up, you' d better get some I'd suggest,  there's still time .

Cheesy Were hitting the $20 mark a bit sooner  than expected, but the crypto market  is moving at warp speed  so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Cmon cloak this video does not install much confidence.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9tAVENus9Y

What's with the dark video ? its also blurry, we cant see the Developer  from Cloak's face on the bottom half on the screen, the ZZ-top beard blocks the view.
Can cloak really not afford light-bulbs or a webcam?  Really ?  and why does the Dev appear to be hiding ? Fluffy pony(Monero) does not hide and  neither does Zuko (Zcash) .
 - And what does  the  guy on the right, Joe Baker  have to do with cloak , he doesn't even work for cloakcoin ?

When someone searches for cloak videos is this really what we want them to see ? c'mon lads Lets put out a real interview, not this shady looking video - its very disappointing and does not instill confidence in purchasing  cloak.

Dear Cloak Community,

Before we start the public testnet phase, we decided to do a small "update"

CLOAK is proud to present the new logo of ENIGMA!

The new logo emphasizes solidarity and safety which are representative for the CLOAK community.
It symbolizes ENIGMA nodes which hold the network together.
The five circles in the logo represent active cloakers who aid in cloaking and strengthen the network.

ENIGMA makes it impossible for any outside observers to trace payments done with CLOAK!

Stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming days!

Peace & Love

Team CLOAK

Looking good , looking good ! go Team Cloak

We have to keep in mind BTC can correct from this 11K range this week. BTC cant go parabolic forever and parabolas  can correct up to 50%.
..Ofcourse BTC can just keep on rising , but If BTC  does correct all ALTs will take a hit including Cloakcoin, so expect the unexpected and HODL the Cloakcoin.

Off topic but please read:

"US Senate Moves to Criminalize Non-Disclosure of Cryptocurrency Ownership"

https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-senate-moves-to-criminalize-non-disclosure-of-cryptocurrency-ownership

Stand up and be heard! Stop this before it starts or we will all suffer the loss. Write, call, blog, post yell and scream. This must never see the light of day. For those of you in the US, it goes against every principle we believe in. Our country was founded on principles diametrically opposed to this proposed law.

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist."

"Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

"Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew."

"Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

I simply can't stress how important it is to stop this nonsense. We are no better than the Nazi's if we enact this. Even if you are NOT in the US, this will effect you in due time if enacted. Make your voices heard!

if you live in the US or use any of the US exchanges, you owe taxes and  most likely will have to pay them in 2019. This is one of the reasons for the disclosure. The problem is how the taxes will be calculated .
Moving  coins to an offline  wallet is considered a sale, selling any coin  is considered a capital gains event.  The challenge will be that in some cases you will owe more than the value of your coins plus penalties.
For example  if you sold at the top of the ATH ( ie BTC 11,000)  and the value of the coin has dropped substantially (ie BTC 3000)  you will still  owe taxes based on the value of the  coin when you sold it and not the current value.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 29, 2017, 07:52:43 AM
how decentralized storage works? where is the data stored? Huh

Data is stored in a network of  currently 900+ hosts around the globe offering their free hard disk space and getting compensated for that with Siacoins. Currently they are offering overall 3500TB of storage.

More data at: https://siastats.info/hosts_map.html and https://siastats.info/hosts_network.html

Each file you upload to Sia is split in chunks and distributed among 30 hosts with a redundancy of 3x.

The Reed-Solomon algorithm of data distribution ensures that even if only 10 of those hosts are online, your files will be still available for you to download.

As hosts risk Siacoins in what is called collateral, they are de-incentivized to drop the files.

Great explanation , cheers.

Does Sia have an update API, true of false?
https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia/tree/master/doc

Some changes are being made to the APIs currently, but the resulting APIs will always be backwards compatible with old applications.

Hi guys!

I have one question, because I do not understand something.
Do Siacoin have a limited number of coins (limit quantity) or will they be created indefinitely?

The supply is infinite to incentivize miners securing the network forever. However the block reward is smaller over time and it will reach a minimum of 30KS/block. The inflation, for that reason, will be smaller and smaller. For instance, inflation rate today is 23% but it will be 3-4% in 2020. You can check the numbers here: https://siastats.info/supply_inflation.html

Also consider that in a future update Proof of Burn mechanics will be introduced for hosts to prove their legitimacy. So the more network usage, more burnt coins. At some point, if the network is big enough, the coin could be deflationary. Also, millions (or billions) will be locked in file contracts as the network keeps growing

This sounds stressful , does it mean the SIACOIN I hold will not appreciate until 2026 ..and even then it will depend on the demand ? Are there any projections ?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 27, 2017, 04:39:04 AM
I gave up mining SIA a while back (and switched to a non storage based coin) simply because, I don't see a future for it. I can't see any large company wanting to go through the hassle (and risks) of exchanging cash for SIA then using it to buy storage. Currency fluctuations can have big effects on profitability (Lots of UK businesses after Brexit have seen profits squeezed, or even wiped out after GBP took a dive) Why would a large company already at risk of currency fluctuations increase that risk by also getting involved with crypto markets, and with something as important / essential as storage?

With high speed networks, falling SSD prices (and increasing capacities) along with super reliable HDD's does SIA really have a large scale customer out there? Perhaps content creators could find a use for SIA as an alternative back up space - but the likes of a large multinational with huge storage requirements would probably already have their own facilities in place. Honestly, I don't see enough small scale users to make up the difference.

So, that's why I got out - I don't think the demand will ever match the supply. I think it's important to have faith in any project you're investing in (whether it's buying coins or using resources to mine them, it all counts as an investment!) - I have a great deal of respect for all those who do believe that there's a future for SIA - perhaps you can see something I can't... (or maybe you are just smarter than me!) - however, for me - I think there are better options out there.

Soooooo wrong . Ive worked for two of the biggest storage manufacturers of storage in Silicon Valley and in the world. I'm not talking Terrabytes  of data  we are talking arrays which hold multi Exabytes of data, hosted in data centers the size of football fields. Every major company, business, hospital, stock market exchange  in the world is on these arrays. When an array goes down its in the news as it impacts something huge and the downtime can  affect the  stock price of a company.

Now think about this,  for every petabyte of data there has to be a backup of this petabyte of data , (government regulations dictate backups go back 7 years) , and to avoid a single point of failure this data has to be replicated to multiple branch locations throughout the world. Where do you think the XRAYS hospitals use are stored ? Do you really think the movie studios are storing  movie  data  on a bunch of hard drives ? Nope, they are on multi-million dollar intelligent arrays the size of fridges  which  manage the data and its spread across  several global locations.

One of the biggest challenges is how do you preserve this data,  how do you provide cooling , the cost of electricity, security, product failures, data redundancy, real time replication, data deduplication, ete etc . These are issues which  the major storage companies and  enterprises  struggle with .
SIACOIN solves a majority of  these problems and is going to huge.

I have  675 TB  of data I manage at home,  which means I need to keep another 675TB of space  for backups and another 675TB in case the main backup fails.
You can imagine my electricity bill,  its  up there and I try to offset it with solar panels and 20 x  12volt (256 Amp Hrs) solar batteries which run these NAS devices when the Sun goes down and  the panels no longer supply energy.

In summer time these NAS boxes require  a lot of cooling and im also mindful  of what happens to the data if there's one of these California  earthquakes . This is where SIACOIN comes in as I will  archive the data to the SIACOIN network, and now  I  only need to keep 675TB of live data and my cooling and  power requirement issues are now resolved - As a plus  I also get to pocket a lot in savings. Another added benefit is its decentralized so I no longer need to worry about security ( As you need the wallet key and seed to get to the data ). Plus its decentralized so there's no need to worry about  a single point of failure - And Even if SIACOIN  team folds and gives up the project  the network still  lives on .

Think again @DanTheHam  in the future I see SIACOIN on phones, in cars, watches etc ... this revolutionary and is going to be huge !

Another wonderful thing is no matter how much Dropbox, Amzon, Microsoft, Box etc  try they can never complete with SIACOIN in the storage space. This is because there's no storage,  cooling, security, power  etc.. etc requirements for SIACOIN its all taken care of in their distribution model.  There's never overhead as its decentralized. If  Drobox, Microsoft, Box etc attempt to compete with SIACOIN they can never ever win as they have various  financial overhead they can never  avoid - you gotta love it .   These are some smart Devs over at SIA -  So SIACOIN will always undercut them in prices and will always be more secure .
Where do you think these enterprises are going to turn to cut costs and  up their stock valuation ? .. SIACOIN network gives them this option

I do not agree with your analysis in the previous post. Please take a neutral analysis for both Sia (de-centralised) and others (centralised, including Dropbox, Amazon, etc.). You can see that all of them need hardwares, by which I mean real high-perfomanced devices for their storage services. Those services all need power, cooling systems, etc. which put the Earth under extremely high pressure about environmental pollution, generally. The only thing Sia project is better than those others is it use de-centralized devices, and you can restore your data easier. That's it.

regarding storage and siacoin. how is the data storage security is it uniformly encrypted on each devices? where can I learn more about this as I would be keen to use it for additional phone storage. Smiley

in a traditional storage model i.e  raid volume the data is spread across several disks for speed, redundancy etc. For example in a raid5 data is spread across five disks inclusing the parity data so you can lose one disk and still recover the data  - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_RAID_levels#RAID_5

With a raid 6 you add a second parity stripe ( or some manufacturers use a  dedicated parity  disk ) so you can have a two disk failure. This also mean that if one day someone walks off with one disk from your data center they only have 1/5 of your data and its useless as its only  partial block data which makes it unreadable . SIACOIN extends this model but unlike hard disks in one data-center  the data is spread across  multiple computers across the internet and you do not know the ID of those computers. So even if someone hacks into one of those computers  they only get partial data which is unreadable and not usable as the block data is garbage. Throw encryption on top of that for  added security  and  a block-chain wallet key and you have  very highly secured data.  Which of the current storage provider models can beat this model or offer better security ? Pray do tell me
 - The beauty of the SIACOIN model is its very simple  and yet very highly effective and  very affordable as the overhead requirements are stripped.
What do you think the developing world will be using ?

Open source is going to make Cloakcoin a very successful project. Through the cloak technology many coins will now be able to implement truly secure and anonymous transactions.  This opens the door for a whole new set of ideas, projects and products we haven't even thought of yet.  Don't let any sucker talk you out of not  HODling your cloak.
2018 and beyond will see a new wave of civilians enter the crypto market, they will not have 10k to spend on one coin and will looking for coins which have a good Dev team, a promising future and a good community. Hello !...Cloak is right there, Think long term and  not quick gains ( the real world does not work like this) and go with the products and technology which will be moving forward in the future.

....Cloakcoin all the way.

Wow!!   I just backed up 500Gb to SIA  without a hitch .. This SIA is alright in my books.
I'm going to be using this as my archive from now on and I'll backup my 300,000 mp3s next :-)

Once feature that will be welcomed is the ability to back up  folders and not just files (but i suspect this will be added in the future).
This is an awesome usable project with a good future. if you are holding SIA use the SIA app to back up your data,it works very well.

I'm liking it, Great Job SIA team  keep up the good work .

hello who to change the blockchain datadir directory ?

>>The default path is Drive :\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Sia-UI\sia\consensus. if you changed it im not sure SIa will know where to locate it unless theres  a config file you can use set the path to the db.

other question if i cannot open port on my nat is this a problem if i wanna share hard disk space?
>> "Shift-Cntl-L" under  "hosts" will let you know if your host is reachable . You can manually add an NAT entry to your router.
The SAI app also prints "Host unreachable" in red  on the top of the app if  your host cant be reached.

1 more question  is it possible to share a file for 1 day?  or will we pay automatically for 1 month ?
>>
not sure ...on this one , but seems overkill to use SIA to share a single file for a day. The  main use case I see now is for archiving large amounts of data securely.

250k STRAT for a masternode??? lol think i'll pass, and to stake you need 25k Strat or more to receive 1 STRAT per day? so you lock up $85,000 and get ONE STRAT?  am i reading this right? surely not? no wonder it hasn't taking off, it's a great project but priced the average joe out the market with them ridicules prices?

You are stuck in a short term quick profit frame of mind. I dont blame you because most people in virtual currencies think like you do and it is difficult to get out of that. Dont think about Stratis at todays prices. Think about the future when prices are at 0.05 or higher. Not too shabby if you can earn 0.05 per day for not doing much. Also, there will be future functionality like lower tier masternodes which you can apply that stash to to also earn some more.
Totally agree, we should look at STRAT a bit globally, as Chris confirmed there will be also 10 k nodes and maybe 1 k (not sure about 1k) that will bring eyes on strat for sure. I think that 3$ is super cheap at least for me as I'm not trader and gonna hold strat for 2 and more years.

Yup I agree  they will do well,  they have good ideas its just going  to take some time to pull it all together.

to be honest no one like cloakcoin and looks like its failing Sad i am also in big lost last bought @ 0.003 levels Sad Sad

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get - Warren Buffett. Dont relate the performance of the price to the actual potential of cloak. There a many cryptos out there that don't even have a working product, but are pumped to the max. Why? Because most people have no idea what they buy, they are just focussed on price. Cloak has an actual working product, an active community and a good development team. Focus not on the price today, but on the long term future potential.

You're right and you need to do it. But when the price rises you feel more confident, do you agree with me?

It depends what drives the price up and what the time frame is. If it's a sustainable price increase trend, then yes. If it's a short pump, then not. The prices of many cryptos are still being manipulated by large BTC holders, as markets are unregulated and liquidity is low. Look therefore on the long term price trend and not on today's price. Exactly 1 year ago, the price of cloak was around 0.12 USD, look where it is now. Imagine where it could be within 12 months from today. “Only buy something that you’d be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years.” - Warren Buffett

nicely put !
