3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer B3 Miner on: April 25, 2018, 08:06:01 PM
IME with buying new bitmain miners (with the exception of the E3) the price always drops dramatically.  I bought into the A3s paid 2500 for first 980 for the second and now they are 520 (perhaps the fork threat is causing this) but the point is, buying in at the beginning and hoping ROI is fairly difficult to achieve for me so far.  I am getting close to A3 ROI after 2 mos, but if I had to do it again, I'd prolly wait until batch 2.

In fairness to bitmain, they do compensate with extremely generous coupons, that I appreciate.

If BYTOM is meant for AI, then is this the miner with Sophon asic?

Great question, would love to know the answer.

10  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CoinsMarkets.com IS DOWN! on: January 07, 2018, 08:45:53 PM
This just came through on the KLOUT COIN group on discord

"CoinsMarketsMod: PLEASE NOTE: Server data transfer underway. You can monitor your CM BTC balance through the BlockChain Explorer. Please be aware that we do not deploy admins/devs on CoinsMarketsChats. Do not give out account information to anyone.
Just a friendly update"

When checking the explorer I see 0, does anyone else see their coins?

Medium article outlining a summary of The Wanted System

https://medium.com/@thewantedsystem/the-wanted-system-a-summary-f5678671070b

"The founders believe that The Wanted System will become the new national and global default system that will provide anyone with the means to participate in the apprehension of wanted criminals through its exclusive multi-layered approach and unique incentive program."

This is very interesting.  From what I understand, this would be an effective way for a person to stay anonymous, but also be compensated for creating a campaign.

If you guys could get, or do have partnerships with bond agencies, law enforcement groups, etc, this could be a very big deal.

Your 100% correct. That's the beauty of this, you can remain protected!  Smiley

I spoke with a Chief of Police the other day, they want to be part of the initial test group. The response from all sectors so far has been overwhelming.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-ICO][XWS] The Wanted System - Building a safer community, together. on: December 19, 2017, 11:26:00 PM
Very interesting. What measures will you implement to make the process more, "user friendly" for the general public who have no crypto. experience?

The public's interaction will be done in fiat for the most part, we're discussing ways now to accept payment and sell tokens to use the system. It will be as easy as any other internet purchase to participate.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-ICO][XWS] The Wanted System - Building a safer community, together. on: December 19, 2017, 11:24:00 PM
The project sounds interesting...  Please where can I check up on the team list for The Wanted System project

We'll be publishing the list of the team at time of ICO (since we are adding people still).
15  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Lawyers accepting bitcoin for services on: December 15, 2017, 10:52:47 PM
The key point to the article here is this blurb...

"Citing a requirement that no client may be charged too high a fee, the committee said that, while a lawyer may accept a cryptocurrency, it must immediately be converted to U.S. dollars."

I understand their reasons for doing this. But since the cryptocurrency must be converted to USD immediately, they're not really paying you with bitcoin... they're paying you using bitcoin. The end result is that you'll have USD in hand. Which, in effect, is pretty much the same thing as someone giving you a money order, and then cashing it. They may hand you a money order, but you need to convert it either to cash, or digits in your bank account in order for it to be useful to you.

So the way I see it is that they basically said "One bitcoin is the same thing as a $4,236.92 money order". Cheque, money order, cash voucher, or bitcoin... the result is all the same. It must undergo a conversion process to become USD in order to be complete.

I'm not saying this isn't a good breakthrough for crypto. I'm just saying that it only marginally validates the use of such currencies in the context of legal services.

GREAT POINT! ... Payment USING bitcoin.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-ICO][XWS] The Wanted System - Building a safer community, together. on: December 15, 2017, 10:27:13 PM
A very unique and meaningful project, but because of anonymity, i wondered if the system will be misused, such as the defamation.

Validated tips will be used in regards to those that have warrants out for them and did not show up for court. There won't be campaigns based on information that is not proven / spam. It will be up to the authorities to decide what tips are bogus and then counter checked by the civic group.

Since it is anonymous the information will not be available publicly.  In regards to publishing info for campaigns,  it will be published if there is validity and in that case it is already public knowledge.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-ICO] The Wanted System - Building a safer community, together. on: December 13, 2017, 10:28:34 PM
This is a unique idea in this space.

For a member to create campaigns anonymously, without fear of backlash from undesirables, and work with law enforcement, bail bondsmen, etc . . . and then have the member get rewarded in XWS coins . . . this could be a great niche to hit for an ICO and platform.  To the best of my knowledge, I have not seen a blockchain concept used in this fashion.

How are the validity of the campaigns verified?  Surely, we would not want someone to create a false campaign.

Looking forward to following this project.

The validity of the campaigns are achieved by the grading system. The range is a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being bogus, 10 being solid leading to capture.  So let's say its a 5, then that would be consider medium quality lead, let's say a bond jumper has been seen in Madison, WI in the past 30 days.

The grades will be the key to validating, tracking, logging and processing all tips coming thru the wanted system.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-ICO] The Wanted System - Building a safer community, together. on: December 13, 2017, 03:58:54 PM
The system for tracing offenders, criminals and other criminal elements. Creating is a good thing. Total surveillance and control - the dream of law enforcement agencies. And who will be the buyer of your system?

The wanted business model will we be powered financially by reward campaigns.  We've taken steps to ensure this will not become favored to law enforcement only. There will be enterprise partnerships sought with civic leaders, bail-bond companies and corporate partnerships. Actually it is quite the opposite, it will be a double edged sword for authorities. The system could be used to tip off corruption as well as the location of a bail jumper. The tips will be graded and also checked by an unbiased third party that will act as an oversight group.

Keep in mind when a tip is submitted, it will be directed to several agencies within law enforcement on the local, state and federal levels and in addition civilian oversight.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: December 05, 2017, 09:18:04 PM
I originally bought xrp at .006 usd ... sold 1/2 at .43 and letting the rest simmer until this coin blows up to be a monster.
