This is important guys. Please help out.
Further to Q4 - any contingency plans in the event of a 'crackdown'?

I can almost hear that virtual auctioneer saying "do I hear 2.50? 2.50, .. anyone .."

It seems to me that the headline is completely wrong.
The writer is kind of saying don't dismiss bitcoin simply because it doesn't have a central authority and is based on faith, after all look at $multi-trillion US corporate bond market.
|
|
|
A fair amount of bitcoin commerce takes place within the forum, eg the auctions sub-forum. It is based to quite a large extent on 'social trust' - escrow notwithstanding - and social knowledge/analysis/feedback etc.
I'm just thinking out loud here, but I wonder if this could actually lead to something much larger in the future? Some kind of bitcoin marketplace predicated on those same social virtues?

They have given you an explanation of their mining procedures?
That's funny.
Look maybe I'm just a bit sceptical; I've had plenty of experience in exploration co's here in oz and personally know some senior exploration people, so it's just my 2 satoshi's. Good luck though, I hope you do well from it.

I think there's gold in my backyard, can you send me some BTC please? I'll call a drilling company establish a relationship with a world class mineral exploration company to make it look more legit. If there is something and we sell out to a major gold company I'll be rich there will be ROI.
what's not to like.
oh and I'll setup a real world post office box so you can contact me

yes, it's not often you can get shares in a tech startup making $ from day 1.

The point about asicminer shares being shares in a company as compared to products from a company, seems to get lost on some.
What could asicminer shares be worth in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years time? How much would they have earned by then in divs; what revenue streams will there be from applications and earning channels undreamed of yet?
Sure some hot new product may come onto the market, and you can keep product comparisons to that for interest sake if you must, but c'mon, these graphics cards and such with built-in rapid obsolescence are no comparison to AM shares.

We confirm that friedcat has indeed excelled himself.

PhillipMa: I'm sure you understand the difference between purchasing a company's products (BFL) and investing in the shares of a company (Asicminer).
