1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wallet.dat from 2010 on: May 18, 2024, 02:23:50 PM
"wallet.dat" was the name. Tell that to the random guy with with a wallet problem!

It's a wallet thing. Thanks heavens.

You need the mnemonic phrase. I made private keys into QR codes. Pretty standard.

BTW. It's a bread mixer and baking machine in one on my avatar pic. It mixes the doe. And bakes the bread. No one cleans it because I don't own one. Next up is I bought an electric kettle. Same line of products.

My "Richard Richard moment". Quoting.

Robot. Please open the hatch.

You tell that Jesus to stay out of stable coins.

Use it on spending. Not speculation. New lead. You get him and SBF out of jail or be the next.

Sit down strike. Cheers. Arhh-man. It's about building an open jail.

But yep, taxes and all the laws regarding them are indeed crazy in the US.  However, in other countries the actual tax rates are even higher (though I don't know how complex the laws are, or how fucking hard they make it for the average person to file their taxes without resorting to expensive software or hiring an accountant).  I don't think the IRS is looking to put people in jail necessarily, but they just make doing your taxes unnecessarily difficult/costly as I just said.  The amount of money involved in this case is huge, but for "little people" who owe back taxes or get caught up in tax issues, the IRS usually settles with them in the form of a fine, penalties, whatever and they don't end up in prison.

For 99%+ of the population of the US income taxes (the IRS) are actually easy. It's just that most people get caught up in the 'you need to have an accountant' or the 'you need a tax professional' For under $50 you can get software that will do it all for you. Even moderately complex things like crypto trading.

As for not paying your taxes most of the time there is no penalty if you don't not pay on a regular basis. Keep it up and they will nail you. Mess up here and there and you will own whatever you owe + interest. The flip side is also true, if you mess up and the government owes you money you get (minimal) interest.

Yes you can always get 'that guy' who works for the IRS who wants to nail you to the wall. But for the most part it's not that bad.

Stale / local / sales tax / property tax and all those other things are different but not really part of this discussion.

Hey man. You treat the money like it was your own and everything will be fine.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: May 15, 2024, 04:18:25 PM
For me, Bitcoin holders are winners because I have experienced the benefits during the halving, at that time, I held my Bitcoin for several years, then when the Halving occurred, the profit I got was 3 times the capital I spent when buying Bitcoin. Therefore, when the Halving occurs, the holders who are currently still able to hold it will feel happy because they can get huge profits so that in this way they can fulfill the desires they have always dreamed of.

People will not regret because it's like giving in to have making a mistake.

I accidently clicked two cars when I was only supposed to click bikes but it let me in anyways. Thanks. Stockholmers.

Edited. Self-inflicted.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get discouraged by the current price of Bitcoin on: May 01, 2024, 04:58:07 PM
I think people shouldn't get discourage by that, though I didn't experience other halvings cause I had zero knowledge about Bitcoin then but i think something similar have occurred before in one of the previous halving where Bitcoin price didn't go up as expected but later traced back and went up after some period, a lot of people might begin to panic and sell their coins but I still see this an opportunity to buy more Bitcoin and for those who are not opportuned to do so, holding is the best option, please correct me if you think am wrong

Getting discouraged? only the newbies just joining may have a second thoughts about bitcoin market price, we have been into this for a while now, last year when Bitcoin go dip as far as $16,000 and people never loose hope, this is just a mere warming up, to create an avenue for those interested on making an investment, they could rather see this as an entry point for them to invest and wait till the same opportunity lands for more bull, what we are seeing is only preparing us for the expectations ahead, the earlier the better we understand that all we need is to hold now.

On credit score. You can use it for collateral if you want a loan.

53k. It's going down. Oh. In EURO.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the Future of Money on: May 01, 2024, 04:36:05 PM
I don't really trust it as I used to. Because a lot of currency is already gov owned. However, I do still trust the community and its waves. I hope lots of good things come out of it.

I understand your concerns about government-owned currencies and the trust in Bitcoin fluctuating. The community's resilience and innovation are indeed promising. It's exciting to see how Bitcoin and blockchain technology are shaping the future of money. Let's stay optimistic and keep an eye on the positive developments within the crypto community.

Do some LP on an EVM compatible network if you want a bonus.

BTW. Check the BTC chart. I have a candle hanging mid-air.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Sentenced, Your Bitcoin in their Custody on: May 01, 2024, 04:18:26 PM
It's more unfortunate rather than a joke! It's unfortunate to see US government is constantly attacking crypto related businesses and people involved in it. It's unfortunate to see the negative stance of US government regarding the cryptos in general.

4 months is nothing! But I wonder why a businessman has to go to prison even after agreed to do a settlement of $4 billion! Crypto businesses need to think 10 times before they want to start a new venture from American soil. There are many crypto friendly countries on earth. They just need to move out, completely.

Binance by far, the biggest crypto exchange in the world so they are able to soak that hit. Think about a smaller exchange, they would have to go out of the business!

This issue of laws is something that seems not to be good but is actually good for protecting people. Some people may hate what the US government is doing but when we look at a scenario where a person deposits money on an exchange and then at the time of withdrawal it is not allowed and days after begging a lot for the exchange employees to return their money and discovers that the owner of the exchange disappeared with all the money, so at that time this person who lost all the money on the exchange will be thinking how good it would have been if they used an exchange that was licensed and operated in the USA because the laws in the USA work much better than in other countries

Of course, I also agree that there are cases in which it seems to me that the US government justice system is persecuting people who are interested in cryptocurrencies, such as Roger, who sees that although I disagree with him about many of the things he says about bitcoin, I still don't think it's fair what the US justice system is doing with it

US Justice Dept charges Roger Ver with tax fraud

The early crypto investor, often called ‘Bitcoin Jesus,’ faces extradition to the U.S. after being charged with evading nearly $50 million in taxes.

source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/roger-ver-tax-fraud-charges

From what I could understand, Roger Ver is a citizen of Saint Kitts and Nevis since 2014 and the accusation that is being made against him, it talks about a crime from 2017, so it is strange that the US justice system is persecuting the guy 10 years after he changed his nationality. It appears that the US justice system is trying to impose itself on the justice system of other countries, as if laws and courts did not exist in other countries as well. In the case of CZ, it also seems that the US justice system is punishing him to show the world that they are superior. for example he paid 4 billion and showed regret, so why are they still sentencing him to 4 months in jail?

You get 3 month for hitting on an old lady.

Don't sell your bitcoin. Use it for creditscore.

And one more thing. Roger is more of a Jesus now than ever!

where i can find the big list of funded btc public keys?

ask LoyceV or search for him. You will find dozens of lists that might meet your expectations. However, read carefully what had already being said. You will waste a lot of resources, just heating your room. Anyway, don't let that stop you from doing whatever you need to do Wink Wish you tons of luck, you might need it. Above all, I wish you lots of fun, a steep learning curve and happy gaining of experience

Cheers

The guys talk about immutable and all the sand grains on the beaches and all the stars in the universe for proof.

Your in the blade.

There is some key generator/scanner sites out there. Google.

A machine that generates random keys and check them for funds.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did I spend my Bitcoin on? on: April 19, 2024, 01:05:50 PM

I guess I was hoping someone else would know what BitMax was (way back in 2012) or remembered something about it.

They were wild west days so I wasn't expecting anything from it. I was just hoping to find out what it was.

It's possible it's in a post somewhere but search returns posts up to 2014 but nothing older.

Thanks for taking a look.

There is a Bitmax.io that I know here on the forum but it is no longer active it seems it is reverse mining according to their official thread you can check from this link below.

Also, it's not me my username does have z at the end and I don't know about Bitcoin way back 2012.

Perhaps I spend some on DGB. I give you a head start.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 19, 2024, 12:50:44 PM
Small transactions on bitcoin does not make any sense now at all. Like to make a $20 amount transaction, one has to pay about same amount, $20 in fees. This does not make any sense. Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely because of this reason ?

I have fallen into the category too, I do not use Bitcoin for small transactions anymore, I use other crypto coins and prefer to keep holding my Bitcoin, the only things I can use my Bitcoin to purchase are lands, houses or cars, heavy stuffs that are costly.

As for those who hate altcoins, this is one of the reasons why you should be thankful that altcoins exist, they are faster and cheaper, more suited for payment solutions than Bitcoin, I wonder what it will feel like to make transactions using Bitcoin when $150,000 per Bitcoin is happening.

There are Litecoin, Dogecoin, Kaspa, BCH, Tron, and many more that are good for settling a small debt or transactions, there aren't many online stores accepting crypto payment in general but even if there are tons of them it still won't make people to start using Bitcoin as payment settlement when others are available.

Listen man. BTC is the /dev/null of money at this stadium. You learn to love altcoins.

So far I have only been able to pay for virtual services. On the internet.

Meaning: I am not gonna buy a real bulldozer and run it over your house with the real money! Cheers! I be on defense.

It makes sense as long as you get rugged by fee's.

Nexo has no fee on wd.. On my tier.
17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: (Ordinals) BRC-20 needs to be removed on: April 19, 2024, 12:29:51 PM
I would like to use BRC-20 for completely uncensored communication.

What. You gonna bring the Catholic with 11 children's up? Raving lunatic.

Quote
that would mean someone can't create a new UTXO unless someone else spends one.
It depends on underlying scripts. Because in the past, people mainly used single-key scripts, so a single person owned a single coin. Now, 2-of-2 multisig is quite popular, because of the Lightning Network, and in general, it seems to be a basic building block for many second layers. However, it doesn't have to stop there: since Taproot, you can make N-of-N multisig, behind a single public key. In that case, if you want to introduce someone else to the network, you could change it into (N+1)-of-(N+1) multisig, and that wouldn't increase the size of the UTXO set.

Your on another level. I be excused and find my beer. Cheers.

L2 is the only solution since they will never increase block size in btc
Switch to "immutable" and kling on. Where's the vote?
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Less than 24 hours to Bitcoin halving and my Birthday! on: April 19, 2024, 12:09:52 PM
Thank you, everyone, for all your warm wishes, I have been very busy today accepting gifts from friends and some family members who came to visit.

And am sorry guys that the link was not working perfectly I have corrected it on the topic. The bitcoin halving has started already, but in some countries, it is not yet April 19. As you can see here most persons are still anticipating the halving within a few hours.

It is getting somewhat tedious reading low quality posts made to celebrate events including halving. As the creator of this thread you have abandoned it after the fanfare used to invite others to join you, maybe the fact it was designed in a manner you were hoping for merits (which incidentally you did not receive even one) therefore you have lost interest. Perhaps?

Join me as we watch the countdown happening!
Funny enough, this topic was not created because of any personal benefits. And I have no explanation for you! If it pains you, you can as well move this discussion to off-topic.

YOU! Check the bitcoin rainbow chart. Google.
