This unfortunately broke BPIP's parsers, since (Recently) is not a valid datetime. We'll try to get it corrected as soon as possible.
If the parsed value is "(Recently)" you can handle it in some custom way.

Or if the parsed value is not in the expected datatype, you can handle the problem in a particular way. You can do the same for any other input received from any third party.

It seems when other members are probably going on with their life activities, PowerGlove is definitely busy making patches. Once again thank you PowerGlove for this addition.

Too bad he only gets merits, and not tens of thousands of bitcoins.  :/
If you are referring to the bitcoin theymos received years ago, the USD value of that bitcoin was only a few hundred dollars, probably well below the FMV of the time necessary to run the forum plus the operating costs. He happened to keep that money in bitcoin and see massive capital gains.

Anyone else, yourself included could have just as easily bought a few hundred dollars worth of bitcoin at the time, and would have seen similar gains if you held on for all these years.

So if I monitor a profile that was last active more than 3 days ago, and it's status switches to "(Recently)", I know it's became active right at that moment.
They will have been active between the last time you looked at the profile and the current time. Unless you are constantly refreshing their profile, you won't have an exact time.

Also, if profiles are refreshed too frequently, or if what you are describing is being used to pinpoint the date/time of last activity too frequently, the last active date can be cached, so it will only ever update every x amount of time.

I'd like to correct a misconception that I keep bumping into before it becomes too widespread:

While most of the patches I've posted to date were done on a free-time/voluntary basis, theymos and I did recently come to an arrangement, and I am now paid for the work I do on Bitcointalk.
Good for you!

As far as I know, it was mostly completed a few years ago. Soooo... it should be out any day now.  Im sure of it!  Wink
New forum software child board is where we can discuss new ideas to develop and improve the new forum software.

Yes, but I dont really see the point in proposing new features and discussing new ideas if the development of new forum software is currently at a standstill. Its been years since theymos said new software was mostly done so we should have seen some development by now.  I can only assume that the whole idea has been abandoned.

You never can tell, it could be that the proposed ideals for new developments is understand researching in considering how the change can effectively be of good features to the platform.
Remember there had been multiple of these proposals so featuring all of it may compromise the forum system so, It could be that they're currently on technical examinations to find the best that's if there was any though.

Why would you want to lock a thread that people are enjoying participating in? Would you rather for example that everyone posting their bets in the NBA gambling thread instead make a new thread every day with their bets? Or each person having their own gambling thread they restart after 5 pages? That would be lunacy.

Perhaps he was referring to Mega threads in gambling, 30+ pages of discussions and it seems that everyone is just repeating themselves or trying to post something base on their experiences recently.

But the rule of thumb here is that just report it to the moderator and see if they are going to take action or not.

Some people will just enter the forum and read what someone on page 1 posted and quote it and what he will post at page 6 or 7 or more. What would have been posted repeatedly on page 1, 2, or 3. Some people will even be posting what they have posted before on another way.

Please after page 3, why not locking the thread again on gambling board? It may no be done for all threads, but moderators can easily see some threads to lock instead of repetitive posts.
Believe me, even on a single page thread or should I say 2 pages, many users wouldn’t go through all the proceeding comments in that thread. Why is that?
There is a possibility that you would have catch an interest from the very first line or paragraph you read and would like to air your views on it. It could even be a comment by someone but that’s how you keep the discussion going.

The gambling board remains somewhere you can truly discuss as, discussions there are often disjointed and continuous. Disjointed in the sense that, you get to talk about specific games, specific rules to the game, specific matches, specific approaches and all that. It’s continuous in the sense that, new facts or ways to argue the game arises as the discussion progresses.

Now, having to lock such thread only creates room for the next thread that, wouldn’t be talking about anything different but rather, would make even a previously discussed idea seem new. After all, it’s a new thread and that changes nothing. Hence, not doing nothing by not locking some really old and long threads is an effective way of doing something by not doing nothing.

So I'm happy to help worthy members rank up.  It's just that when I'm browsing through threads, most of the posts I'd consider merit-worthy are being made by Legendary members.  Don't know if anyone else agrees with that, but I guess everyone has different standards.

By the way, it isn't a question of whether I 'deserve' my monthly allocation of sMerits; it's a matter of whether I can unload all of them each month, and lately I haven't been doing that. I will strive to do better.
As a beneficiary from the times you did reviews, I would say you were instrumental to my scaling the ranks and was very open to everyone that applied at some point.

Am sure a lot of users would have felt a bit uneasy when you announced on your having to stop the reviews but, it’s understandably so. One can only imagine just how many of those pms that were coming in, how much you’ve got to read and what judgments you’ve got to give. I don’t see anything easy about that but, you did your bit and touched the accounts of many here.

Needless to say, you deserve a break from all that work and having to review logs of posts on several accounts. As one of the active merit source on the forum, I hope you don’t hand-in your position some day. Stay true Chymist.

OP, am sure you get your answers already. Nothing is permanent on the forum, even bans are subject to reviews in recent times!
