[...] The place I want to do mining is very dusty. 3 fans of my S4 are now death after 3 weeks!!! and I am pretty sure that the S4 is also probably death. I cant get to it right now but I can see the dust and the death fans on the remote cam [...]

Your problem isn't with the miners, it's with the environment. You should start thinking: "network container"...

Nonononono... A mini portable data center...  Grin

How cool is that thing?

PS. It's actually called a Windows Azure Server Container.

There is a company on here that does sell containers for using as asic data centers.  But it was extremely expensive if I remember right.

If you get a pump from syscooling I highly suggest buying a different brand and keep it on hand as a replacement.  If you look over in C1 thread you will see that syscooling pumps don't get much love since they seem to have some troubles.

I'm glad you did not pick BFL though.

I am assuming it is like a air conditioned room that filters the air to keep out dust. I would be pretty cool for a small scale farm.

Yes it does everything a data center does just is deploy able.  There is a company that makes them for BTC gear i believe their showcase one was done with SP gear.  But it was a neat idea drop it where cheap electricity is and it would mine.   Only problem was the one that made the BTC one had quite the premium for their container.

Here's one. I believe there were two outfits doing similar things but I think the other one actually has discussion in this thread.

Yea that is pretty cool I guess the only issue would be expansion if you wanted to grow your farm you might not be able to connect more crates to use so of the features of the first one for more miners.

Look at some of the other current tech SP20, S5, Avalon 4.1 etc.

You can run with a underclock if you want quiet.  But I would personally never order from BFL.

SP20s you'll need to get 2nd hand from other forum users, you'll find listings here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0
Avalon4s you can get from ehash.com
S5s from bitmaintech.com

how are those avalon 4s miners?

Finally got to start testing one of the Avalon 4's out.  They are VERY quiet.  It if first miner I have put in my bedroom for fun as I test it.

No other miner I have comes close to it on it's low noise output.

Ya but what is the BTC output vs. what you paid?

I went from cash to btc then buying.   I enjoy playing with all miners. It's a hobby I try to make it profitable but there are no guarantees in mining.  I enjoy testing them and sharing my results.  No matter what it won't be as bad as my A2 was.  That was hardest miner I ever had on making ROI.  Either way I make sure  I have fun along the way.
