Join the club DannyHamiton has a 300 person ignore list.
Actually, the number is quickly approaching 700.
I am on it and now you are along with a few hundred others.
You haven't been on my list since the first week of April.
I was looking to share knowledge.
Which is why you are not on my ignore list.
When it comes to signature ads, I've always said that it isn't the ads that bother me (which is why I don't turn signatures off), it's the incentive that the ad campaigns create for hundreds of unknowledgeable people to create hundreds of trash and useless posts each every month that they otherwise would not create, making it more difficult for the users that are seeking education and knowledge to find it. Users are constantly receiving horrible or useless advice, and invalid information, from people that get paid to dump their trash on this forum. Turning off signatures does not eliminate ANY of that trash. Ignoring users that participate in signature ad campaigns eliminates the VAST MAJORITY of that trash. Yes, some diamonds get swept up with the dirt, but I can pick them back out later. Given how much the browsing experience improves with all that trash blocked, it's worth the cost of missing a few posts from a few good members that happen also to be participating in an ad campaign.
If you take a look at the thread where I post my list, it specifically states:

I decided a few months ago to just reflexively click "ignore" on any user that has an advertisement in their signature. Then, if I happen to see that some other user quotes something an ignored user says AND the quote indicates that the ignored user is creating thoughtful and useful posts, I click "unignore". As such, my browsing experience here at bitcointalk.org has been DRASTICALLY improved.

end your no signature campaign.
Nah. But thanks for the suggestion.
