Greetings!

I work at a small nonprofit in Berkeley, CA. We have happily used Coinbase to collect donations for a couple of years now. Suddenly, Coinbase closed our account, seemingly because we are a business and not an individual. I'm not 100% clear on why, but it seems to do with new legal regulations. Anyway, the point is that we need to choose a new Bitcoin wallet, and I need advice on which one to go with.

What I liked about Coinbase: 1) Their system let me easily generate a button so that I could add a Bitcoin payments button to our donations page, 2) Coinbase would convert anything in our account into dollars and do an automatic bank transfer at midnight every day, 3) there were handy reports so that I could keep track of transactions.

Our needs are simple, as you can see. If anybody has tips about a Bitcoin wallet that works like Coinbase, or is better buts still pretty easy to use, I would love to hear from you. The most important features are the ones I posted above.

Thanks!!!!!
i dont really understand why coinbase close your account, have you ask to them why your account closed?
i suggest you to use multibit, its seem like coinbase i think.

you can use Blockchain.info is probably the best and show your wallet balance in USD.
Wrong. No online wallet is the best.Infact blockchain.info is the worst of all online wallet as it has been down almost everytime they faced a ddos attacks. The attacks are so frequent ,that the site members have to put the website down for maintenance every month.I don't think showing wallet balance in USD is a big deal as you can always convert it online.Xapo is somewhat better but not quite as good as Electrum or Core.

Yeah online wallets are here... Well just as your wallet.
You don't put 500$ in your wallet no? It can be lost, stolen, damaged...

Online wallet is the same! Just the same!
You can put those 0.1btc you know you'll need quickly, but not those 2 btc you bought last month Wink

Blockchain is the best option but for me electrum is one of the good wallet online you can download portable version to easy access your wallet.
And its easy to use and you have already receiving address... But the problem of blockchain and electrum has a fee for every transaction than the other online wallet like coinbase or xapo... But blockchain and electrum it the best and secured.

if you want an online wallet you should use blockchain.info because different from coinbase you have control over your bitcoin address by having the private key and they can never block/close your account for no reason.

but also you might want to look into some of other (desktop) wallets. if you don't want to run a full node (core or armory) use an SPV wallet like Electrum or multibit.

I'm very happy with Mycellium, been using it for a few months now. For vault purposes I use a ledger wallet bought last year, it's very practical and secure.

I would recommend to be very careful with Multibit, been hearing a lot of bad stuff about it lately.

He had requested for the advice in 21 december 2015, and I think he must have transferred to another wallet till now.
I just want to know his response to check that where did he reached after leaving coinbase.
I personally would suggest to get into Xapo.

i use coinbase myself but if i would change it to something else it would be bitpay!
My suggestion to you is that; You remain on coinbase as in my case it is running much better , a large number of people are using it without any problem, only a few people are claiming for its problems to them.

Well you don't get a problem, fine.

But it's always when you don't get a problem that trust is built and can crash down you know :/

And I don't think enough time have passed to trust them, at least not with great amounts!

1) use android bitcoin wallet.
2) generate new adress every week
3) generate QR-Code : http://www.qr-code-generator.com/

simple.

no neek 3rd party.

no need virtual wallet or enterprise.

it's Bitcoin ! -snip-

I think that the best to do indeed.
Its the securest way that is possible for it.
Yeah, it is a better way for storing bitcins in that way,
I am also planning to shift to android bitcoin wallet, there are a number of benefits of that, but currently I am on xapo and it is also much better.

Coinbase must have changed their terms and hence his account was closed. If he opens another account, it would get closed again. Blockchain or blocktrail would be safer to use for accepting donations IMO.

I would prefer using Xapo as an online wallet than any other. Currently, I use both Coinbase and Xapo because they don't charge withdrawals and I can exchange to fiat easily. Both also indicates the value in Bitcoin and US dollars.
