Thanks for the update.

I have been mining qubit with my R9 270 using the old sph-sgminer.  For some reason the MyrSwitcher package, with comes with sgminer I think, would just crash/relaunch sgminer over and over again when I tried mining qubit with my card.

Downloading sph-sgminer and using it without the Switcher GUI solved my problem, and I'm now able to mine qubit at about 3.1 MHs (anybody out there getting a higher hashrate out of this card?).

However, I would love to use the Switcher GUI for all of my mining!  It's way too cool.  Is there a way to have MyrSwitcher launch sph-sgminer instead of sgminer for qubit, and the the new grs-sgminer for groestl?  Also, do we know if there are any plans to update the MyrSwitcher package to include these changes (for noobs like me)?

No sure if this is correct but I seem to be getting 180 Mh/s with 7950s (nix, 14.6 drivers) but the watts and heat are just about the same as mining scrypt.  my settings are
Code:
./cgminer --skein -I 8 --gpu-threads 2 -w 64 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 800 --auto-fan --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-target 71,70,71
any feedback would be helpful, or should i try myriad-groestl instead?

I have an R9 290 and I can't get more than 227 Mh/s with Skein without overclocking (high electricity costs here, I don't even run scrypt because it takes too many watts)
not really sure if it's even possible to get more without overclocking

note: thread concurrency doesn't do anything with skein, it uses the same .bin file no matter what TC you specify because skein doesn't use a thread concurrency

something i don't understand

r9 290   does only 227mh ?  it should do more than 280mh  right?  if a r9 290 is = 2x r9 270
my msi 270 does 144 at stock speed

and also my 380 does 186 mh (210mh @1100) , so i don't understand how is possible to have only 230mhz on r9 290
or maybe with some oc you get close to 300 or not? but i doubt i think must be around 260  (if the 280 does +24mh)

because i m looking for a msi r9 390 speed on skein, can't find nothing even for 290 no much info

Gtx460        skein 31 MH/s  -I 7  --gpu-engine 822
hd6670msi       skein 31 MH/s  -I 9 -g 2 -w 64 --gpu-engine 900
hd4890      skein 33 MH/s  -I 8 -g 2 -w 64 --gpu-engine 950
R9270msi           Skein 154 MH/s -I 10 -g 2 -w 64 --gpu-engine 1100
R9380asus/xfx     Skein 202 MH/s -I 11 -g 2 -w 64 --gpu-engine 1050

now i have one there is the speed of 390
r9390 xfx                  302MH      -I 11 -g 2 -w 64 --gpu-engine 1090
