Download all the wallets for that respective altcoin. Sync the blockchain in your computer. Send your coins to your wallets for safe storage. Back up your wallets if possible every week or every time you create a new input address.

The most important file on any altcoin wallet is the wallet.dat be sure to never delete this file,once you delete it all your coins are gone forever always back it up on the first day and again when you are going to transfer your files to other computer..
