Does successfully reporting a thread give you more activity?

I try to report spam threads as much as possible, but I'm wondering if it'll reflect on your activity score.

I think it should, but I don't ever see a boost from it.

Would it be possible to implement to incentivize more users to help out the moderators

What posts are considered spam?is there any guidlines regarding this or any posts with external links are considered spam?
If spam reporting is rewarded in whatever way,it will only increase work load on staff as people will start reporting every other posts and staff will have lots of work to verify them

I don't think it would help the mods if there were incentives to report threads, it will cause many user to report legit threads. That will only annoy the mods for the perpetual waste of time. People usually report threads because they are outraged by the particular mods, not because it will benefit them personally.

We're currently in a situation where too little reports are being made, hence "increasing the work load" wouldn't be a bad thing.
I don't see anything wrong with giving the mods work (reports) to do, it's their job after all.

I don't think it would help the mods if there were incentives to report threads, it will cause many user to report legit threads. That will only annoy the mods for the perpetual waste of time.
Easy solution: Only reward valid reports. People "spamming" reports that are invalid would soon stop when they see it's having no effect at all.

People usually report threads because they are outraged by the particular mods, not because it will benefit them personally.
I don't even...Most people don't report at all, btw.

Mods voluntarily do their job, so you should, too.
Although moderators do volunteer their time to support the website, they are paid for their work. IIRC 25% of the forum's income from ads is split among the moderators, and they're paid according to the work they do (so a mod of 15 sections would receive more than a mod of 3 sections).

How does one become a mod? I see mods as being like Spoc from Star Trek. Very serious and logical.
