Hi everyone, I need a trusted escrow for a deal of about 80$. It would be ideal to not have any fees attached, but I would understand if you would want to take a small cut for your services. Haha, generally I haven't needed to use an escrow in the past due to my account standing and trust. But when a customer wants to use escrow, I am happy to go out of my way to find one so that the customer feels more secure. I've already contacted SebastianJu, but the value is too low for him to escrow. I've reached out to monbux and I am waiting for a response now.

Sorry, I don't have such Service thread here on the forum, but I used to escrow for deals up to 2 BTC and I have people who can confirm that... I'm sorry, but because of your trust, I don't think the other party would agree to use your escrow service. The other party wants to see an escrow thread from a user, have a high ranking account escrow the trade (Legendary) and make sure that the escrow has positive trust. In all honesty, I think this deal would have gone much faster if there was no need for an escrow.

None of my business really, but how ridiculous that the other party refused ranochigo because 'he did not have an active enough ANN thread'. Unless it is a very large value deal, that there are only one or 2 users here worthy of escrowing (a la OgNasty), the escrow account just needs to be valued more than the deal value. In this case, ranochigo account is worth WAY MORE than $80 and should be perfectly acceptable to anyone truly wanting to do a deal. Otherwise they are just wasting your time. (No-one will tarnish such a good account to screw over a deal when they could just sell their account for more than the deal value).

AFAIK most escrow providers around here might not have an active ANN thread but it doesn't mean they can't be trusted. If I were someone looking for an escrow, I don't post in the thread but rather contact them directy for a faster response.
Why not tell that other party that ANN doesn't really matter.

I don't know if Zzarb https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=369212 is offering escrow, he is a hero member but have a solid green trust. He don't have an escrow thread afaik but he has a lending thread and a currency exchange thread.

It's so funny to see things like this. You guys realize that not all of us trust-farm, right? I've done more deals on these forums than 99% of the escrow providers and currently oversee more of peoples' money than most of them put together in their entire lives. The difference? When I deal with people, I don't sit there hounding them until they give trust. If they do, cool. If not, it doesn't bother me. But someone judging everyone based on whether or not they're buying trust (note that there are more than enough parties, including some on DefaultTrust, that are willing to sell out +REP for monetary gain) is a ridiculous way of determining whether or not someone's going to steal from you.

I agree 100%, I don't think I should be having to go through this whole process, considering the fact that the other party actually has a negative trust account too... I thought my standing and reputation here would be good enough, but the man wanted escrow, so I'm out here searching for one so I can get my 80$...

Don't put up with the BS. Any untarnished hero account or higher willing to do the escrow should be fine.
For what it is worth - an $80 deal with you should not have required an escrow.

Sometimes you just have to walk away from a deal due to bs from the other party. There is always someone else out there to deal with.
