Every time I finish mining and [q]uit out of cgminer, the fans on the 7970s switch to manual control. This means I have to manually go to Catalyst Control Center and change my fan speeds to manual override again.

Side note: I am using --auto-fan parameter when I start cgminer.

Any ideas?

If you don't want cgminer to adjust your fan settings then don't tell it to.
