Roger Ver accepts a challenge. A Reddit user suggested to exchange 100,000 Bitcoin Unlimited tokens for bitcoins at one-to-one rate. The community attention was attracted with the suggested price, which differs from the market price more than twice. Roger Ver, one of the most successful bitcoin investors, in one of his recent posts at BitcoinTalk expressed his interest in this deal and noted again that Bitcoin Unlimited tokens are underestimated and soon to be equal in price to bitcoin.

Another person suggested an even lower amount to bet, but hasn't been taken up on the offer.

Roger Ver isn't going to pay out, or confirm anything. He knows he's been beaten - otherwise we'd hear about it non-stop from him on Twitter and other places.

He's done... for now.

Talk about misleading/clickbait title to gain attention/views. Roger Ver has expressed his interest, nothing more.
He did not agreed to trade, no specifics of the deal were shared. At this point we can label this 'deal' as publicity stunt/prank.
Bitcoin Unlimited support is not going to reach 51% of hash power any time soon.

Nothing new. Everything is being done to attract people to click on their articles to generate a few pennies of ad revenue.

Correct, if he was so confident that his altcoin was going to take over, he would take the bet at any time of the day without any hesitation. But that's not a big surprise. I add more value to the scenario that with artificially bumping BU forward, they (BU gang) just try to force Core devs to come up with some sort of mid-way solution, that's it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other than that, it has been well pointed out in the last years that Roger Ver enjoys a great deal of wealth (few hundred K worth of BTC), but is there anyone knowing what addresses belong to him? Just being interested here.

To be fair, you can't expect him to exchange all his BTC for BTU before the hard fork even happens.  He'd be relying on an exchange to hold thousands of BU coins that might never even exist.

I disagree, there's no point exchanging them at a 1-1 rate when the price is much lower than that.  The reason that the price isn't very high is because people don't think that the hard fork will definitely happen.  Roger Ver would just be buying nothing and hoping that the exchange will let him have it in the future, and that's always a dangerous strategy.

Not to mention that it's stupid to trade those tokens because when the hard fork happens you'll just have BTU (whereas if you didn't hold it in an exchange, you'd have BTC and BTU of the same amount).

Well its a matter of believe if roger believes in his bitcoin unlimited coin.
he should do that , he says it will be the "new bitcoin" so why not exchange his old coins for his btc-u coins?! Smiley
and if someone offers him this possibility and he trueley believes in his coin as he said he should!
about 1 week ago he said he would go for it in 48 hours ,  but we are still waiting! Smiley

total clickbait and a public stunt from Ver
no deal or agreement signed, not even a verbal one
he simply "expressed his interest" nothing more
but he really should have put his money where his mouth is
this only proves that the hard fork is not going to happen any time soon,or ever

I knew he wouldn't take it and this was a great move by Loaded that showed Ver is not 100% confident his BU is going to win.
Ver was also wise not to take the deal because we can all see that BU isn't gaining any new support.

I'm shocked to see how the community cares so much about individuals while bitcoin is not for someone to decide what will happen in the future.
They got you all fooled and tried to cause panic dumping but the vigilant and smart supporters/holders saw the plot and countered it.
We should all go with the chain that does everything by the protocol 75%+ consensus.
The moment you give bitcoin a face to reckon with is the end of bitcoin, Satoshi was smart to hide his face from the world.
