When I saw the title I thought: oh, someone came to give us tips on how we took advantage of the pump and dump, man you actually came to do something else. Ha ha ha I liked reading what is written on your site and you have to correct it: " 7 Traits of A Pump and Dump " On your site it is written " 5 Traits of A Pump and Dump "

It's that debate about changing a permalink or not and re-setting all the links. It does look confusing - you're right.

Great article. I thinks it needs to mention some relevant specifics though - for example, how obviously this applies to recent situations (namely DASH). Especially number 4 - DASH's videos and many people talking about DASH were claiming that it's much better than Bitcoin as they believe it's instant, lower fees etc, which it only was because there were very few transactions on a pumped network and it had very few improvements, but people relied on DASH despite a lack of noticeable technical discussion about its benefits, hence the current dump from about $100 to about $60.

Thank you for this article, this is very helpful for the newbies who are always victim of the different pump and dump scheme of altcoins. As a trader, I also saw different situations like this that the coin is just a pump and dump and the only person that are generating profit are those whales and its followers.

The DASH pump is interesting because this is their SECOND big pump. Back in 2013, when they were called Darkcoin, they also had the mother of all pumps - back then the story was all about how it was more anonymous than bitcoin (people imagined that the public was really interested in this despite the fact that we are living in an era where people willingly give up their privacy by posting all sorts of personal stuff online).

Not only in dash pump and dump do happen in all crypto currencies especially in bitcoin and it happened often. I do analysis my own pump and dump in bitcoin following people bank of china attack on bitcoin exchangers. Most time five hours after the news market will pump and few hours after that you will see dump.

Some views from this article are amazing, really well put and straight to the point, I laughed so hard at this:
"Again, humans are as dumb as sheep and goats – they run together without really understanding why – a great example of this was Zcash; no one really knew why they wanted it, but everyone else wanted it and Zcash crashed over 99.99%."
It illustrate how easy people can be manipulated, and it has very little with being intelligent. As we all share herd mentality.

Yes; we all can be just as dumb as a sheep. It happens even to the best.

Yes; we all can be just as dumb as a sheep. It happens even to the best. But being one in the herd is the way to make profits in trading because no one could stop the happening of bump and dump. Manipulation of market is happening with almost all types of trading, fortunately in cryptoworld, even the small traders are capable of making some benefits out of it.

Nice article. Well, I don't analyze much about pump and dump like in the article that's why I find this info helpful and I knew something different from it. I usually do trade in my own way and as of now I'm getting good results. Learning from experience Oh and by the way, I like that you point this out in the 1st paragraph of the article. I really agree. A person should only trade with money that they’re willing to lose because losses are guaranteed. If you choose to participate in purchasing a token in the cryptosphere, you should do so with the full expectation of a loss and you should also expect it to change in a manner that does not benefit you.

It illustrate how easy people can be manipulated, and it has very little with being intelligent. As we all share herd mentality They wanted it because they saw fortunes made with it As the proverb goes, bitterness and greed render one impotent. And I'm not so sure about the former, at least, not as much as about the latter. Greed seems to be the least common denominator that makes people "as dumb as sheep and goats". Folks lose their reasoning and common sense when they see how the price has been rising and fancy how they earn hefty profits without having a second thought that they might in fact be too late to the party
