is anything going to be done with the BCC (bitcoin cash)

I think that the BCC should be converted into BTC

But if I had to bet I would say nothing will be done with the BCC?

6000 BTC? Are not most of them already been paid towards the development of https://beta.bitcointalk.org when BTC price was far lower?

According to that there is at least 750 BTC.

But I thought the fourm had around 6,000 BTC I guess I am really really wrong.

Keep in mind that the forum no longer has access to the coins held by paraipan, so the figure is closer to 500BTC. see below for the correct figure.

I forgot about that.... I really really thought the fourm had more than 500 BTC at its disposable

Maybe someone can chime in with some knowledge?

If someone wants to read more about paraipan see here

You sure love digging up that quote, huh?

Regardless, my mistake. I apologize.

theymos said that the amount he holds currently varies. In the address listed, around 750BTC are held. This likely makes up a fair amount of what Quickseller is referring to.

I am just stating the actual amount the forum currently holds, I didn't say anything about how it should be spent.

Anyway, the donors well donated the money so it really isn't theirs anymore and don't really have a say just because they donated. Theymos has said that he believes the money belongs to the community (even though legally it likely belongs to him), and I am sure he is willing to listen to well reasoned arguments when deciding what to do with the money although it has been earmarked for the new forum.

Where do you get that figure from?

Agree 100% these are donations and belong to the donee.

I understand QS.  I see what you said. I wasn't implying or inferring otherwise.  I was asking the same question I asked in that other thread?  No one answered, then I learned NONE were on the list.

I'm just wondering why is lots of posts are interested in these funds?  I thought hmmmmm maybe there was a picnic or something  Cheesy  But, I'm leaning towards something more sinister  Undecided

BCC is currently trading at around .021 BTC. With the fourm having around 1400 BCC thats almost 30 BTC that could be added to it, I think it would be dumb to not convert the BCC to BTC, or at least move the BCC to a BCC wallet instead of not doing anything at all

The BTC+BCC will remain in cold storage. If BCC still has any value to speak of whenever I need to access the cold storage next, I will consider what to do with it then.

Rushing to sell the BCC ASAP would be an act of speculation, and would entail some risk. It is possible that BCC could acquire significant value after an initial period of dumping. I personally find this nearly unimaginable, but still, I don't go around making bets with 1000+ BTC.
