Personally I have gone for a mixed bag to include:
- Ethereum
- Waves
- Shift
- Ardor
- Radium

how about swarm token? That will start ICO tomorow (09/21)

Ethereum is one of the best altcoin to hold for long run of time, because this coin have good condition in the market.   In addition monitor also the waves and ark due to good movement of their price, I believe that their value were increase this following days

This is considered to be the best among all the altcoins and might be it may cross 1000$ in 2018 and the use of ETH will increase if  bitcoin becomes very expensive. Also the confirmation of transaction is quicker than btc which makes it more usable coin in coming days. ETH is a must in your portfolio for long term.

Xem would be a good coin to invest in the future because they have a lot of working projects that I think would be very beneficial in the future too. Also I like the concept of waves, and I think waves would be next to ethereum too.

I think you should buy more coins, so it's safe. The problem is: what coin will you buy?, keep long I still choose Bitcoin first because if Bitcoin collapse then all altcoin would be so. Next will be Eth, Ltc- I trust them for quite stable with excellent technology and team well. You can also refer to Lisk, Stratis, See, Pay, Waves, Ark
