While we're at it, can we ban ALL useless replies, regardless of whether a user has a paid signature? Even if they're not doing it for personal gain, it still clutters up the forum. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=181885.0

By useless I mean: '+1', 'yeah', 'good idea', etc I don't condone useless posts but I think a tiny proportion of such posts can be tolerated Except if you are displaying ads in your sig IMO, so the idea is to make this strictly forbidden: deletion of posts, then PM warning, then ban even if they are not spamming
I completely agree. What makes this worse is when people are posting things completely off-topic. For example, one thread I saw the other day was talking about an issue with a mining program and some spammer came there and replied with a message along the lines of "yes its best," which had nothing at all to do with the topic or any of the discussion going on. This is seen far too often here. There are also the people that have tons of posts that are nothing but their BTC address as they go from thread to thread just posting it either as spam or in the hopes that people pay random BTC addresses. Report those spam posts and they'll be deleted! There's too many to follow, lol. Also, I've had bad luck in the past with reporting people that are extorting/harassing people. Hell, I reported one person that was going from thread to thread calling everything a scam. Many others reported him as well and nothing was done about it, so I lost faith in the system after that. If you're talking about the guy I think you are, you should check when his last post was, and consider why he might have stopped posting .

I still don't see what's so bad about the ignore function It's like nobody is ever satisfied until they've fucked someone else over.

I delete pure '+1', 'lolz', 'wtf' etc posts on a regular basis anyway. I think we need more mods like you.

As someone who has a paid signature (x3), I act pretty damn cautiously and I don't do anything stupid like spamming "+1". Because the people paying you can always just say "we're paying you for posts, not fuckin' spam".
In fact, why don't they?

Some set this (quality posts) as a requirement, others don't.

The people paying for these signature ads do not have the time to go through the hundreds or thousands of posts people are putting up.

So is it okay to just quote a post without even adding anything, or is that even worse than just putting '+1'? Edit: I realize he bolded a part, but still, I have seen some people just quote the previous post verbatim without any notation whatsoever.
