Hello guys, up until now I really didn't care about the BCH I had locked in me Electrum Wallet after the fork. However, last night I decided to claim my BCH so I can trade with it. I followed the guide from the Electrum site and many other places however my BCH balance in Electron Cash wallet is 0.

 This is what I did:

1. Moved all my BTC from Electrum to Coinbase
2. Downloaded and Installed Electron Cash on another machine
3. Set-up the Electron Cash wallet using my old seed.
4. After I have imported the seed.... NOTHING the BCH is not there.

PS:  I have tried switching all servers, still nothing...

Any suggestions? (I am not a tech geek 🤓)

this is right algorithm. In your case i'd look closely to switching servers, it must be server of BCH not BTC.

I have tried using all servers available, but still nothing.

I have read somewhere with potential problem with the 2FA of Electrum Wallet.

Could it be this? I am really desperate so far because I want to sell the BCH while the price is high Smiley

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You do not used seed! You need to follow:
Sent all BTC to other wallet!
Export private key of address you need to sen BCH coin
Import to Electron Cash wallet!
Don't used old wallet to sent or recive BTC!

Very good information, my friend

Yes at least give or make it easier for people who really lay like me this

Many place of exchange  and wallets have experienced security leaks in the past. In general they still do not provide certainty and security adequate to be used as a means of storage like a bank. Wink

I have tried the step-by-step guide, however when I try to sweep my private-keys it says "No inputs found  (note that inputs need to be confirmed)"

When I check the block explorer I have BCH balance.

I am really getting nervous with that crap. What could be the problem guys?

maybe it is because you don't really own any bitcoin cash in the keys you are trying to import in the Bitcoin Cash wallet.
go to a bitcoin cash block explorer such as this one: https://bitcoincash.blockexplorer.com/ and search for your "bitcoin address" that you were trying to import in the Electron Cash wallet. that will bring up a page with all your transaction history. check out your balance and if it was really 0 then see which transaction you made that caused it to go to 0. maybe you spend your bitcoins before August 1 or maybe you acquired your bitcoin AFTER the fork!

That was the first thing I did. I have checked my address on block explorer and I have BCH associated with my address.

On block explorer it says : Total Unspent (balance) .......

I am really baffled.

PS: I have sent my BTC a few days ago to Coinbase rather than different wallet, however I doubt that this could be the problem.

this is really strange.

the only other thing that i can think of is that you may have to leave Electron Cash open for a while so that it can download the Blockchain_header files.
i have had this issue too. i was on a slow internet and that file is about 40 MB big. and while it is being downloaded for the first time, your Electron cash will show your balance as 0.

if you can, monitor your network traffic and see if it is downloading it or not. let it finish up and after a couple of minutes you must see your balance.
