I'm a newbie in bitcoin mining and want to learn more about mining before buying hardware.
we have several unused computers (core i3 and i5).

is there any possible way to collective mining efforts together with these devices (3-6 devices) to reach the payout threshold faster?

is this possible to use this way for Bitcoin or it’s good for altcoins?
