So after 6 hours of troubleshooting it ended up being one cable that had come unplugged from the psu. 

Had thesame issue when I installed my last GPU. I could have saved you a lot of time if you had asked. Smiley

If you had said a PCI power cable plugged into the power supply, that would make sense.  But you didn't say PCI, you said VGA. 

EVGA labels their VGA power cables and their VGA PSU ports as VGA, so naturally, I referred to them as VGA power cables. Oddly, they also label the CPU power cables and CPU PSU port as CPU instead of LGA socket cables. How weird is that?
