Hi Guys,

I'm new in this bitcoin world and I'm interesting to start mining.
I'm thinking to start with that: https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage/5-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html

But my question is it still possible to earn about 1bitcoin per week with this kind of device?

Thanks

Its not worth it at all. Just forget about mining, you wont make your money back.

1BTC per week  Grin

Currently 0.15 BTC / week
When you receive it probably 0.01 BTC / week

Another question you might want to ask yourself is IF (and then maybe, When) you will receive the miner.

BFL have a pretty serious base of unsatisfied customers who have yet to get miners they ordered months and months ago.

Given the current difficulty increase rate, it may be a lot safer bet to invest in something else without being able to be certain on when you would receive any given hardware.

So in fact now the mining decrease a lot. Even with a cheap GPU solution, is it really worst the time to set up it?

tarfereon, 0.15 BTC / week
mining seems to be reserved only for big structure, and in fact not for long.

ATI 5850: $150
The rest of the computer: $200

Result: 330MH/s  so 15 time less than a 5GH/s device.

If I'm using the right number, I can earn 0.01 BTC/week ($1.35) with my homemade GPU's solution  Embarrassed
