I am pretty new to mining. I have one Sapphire Radeon Pulse Rx580 8gb GPU. I am pretty much right out of the box and into the machine, right now. I am using NiceHash Miner Legacy v1.8.1.8.
I am using a Windows 10 - 64bit machine.  I haven't modded my GPU at all except with some minor changes in Wattman that doesn't seemed to have done anything.

I am only getting 250-270 Sols/s in Equihash with this setup. I am expecting to get something like 10-12 Mh/s.

Can someone point me in the direction to get some instructions on what needs to be modded and how to do so. I have overclocked CPU's in the past but never this in depth with a GPU.

Thanks in advance,
TRS

First thing is to make sure that your AMD driver is the latest driver and set to compute. The next thing you will have to look into is modding the bios and than over clocking the memory and cpu and undervolt GPU. You can go to https://mining.help/ for a good guide on everything to get started mining.

No way you can even get 1Mh/s with a single RX580. My best RX570 with bios mod + mem OC + blockchain drivers gets 274 Sols/s with NHML 1.8.1.8
1st step is bios mod, there are lots of threads to guide you, then adjust clock and mem speeds with MSI afterburner.

For modding Bios, see this guide from Mattthev

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1954245.0

almost all tools for modding bios is already there with screencaps for easier following guides. Take note of your GPU mem for the proper timings
