Nobody knows what is future of cryptos, but more profitable than other ways. I'm also believe that crypto is a money of future, but not sure completely. I think we should be a bit careful, because all of traders say that there have a bubble which when it burst everything is ended.

Gambling and trading might look similar but they are a lot of difference between them Grin Day trading can be considered as gambling but that cannot be the same with long term calculated investments,i am not sure about what Oliver thinks about bitcoin,i have a definite idea about bitcoin and the market and i know how to do things safely. One thing that I understood from the talk is that, due to the increased usage from the gaming people it is termed to be a game. In specific majority of the miners who have active involvement into mining and related activities were pro gamers. He hasn't understood the true need, to the growth getting attained in different fields something is necessary with the financial system as well. This has taken place in the form of cryptocurrency.

He's not an investor or a market strategist. He's a comedian, so his whole show was exactly what you would expect from a comedian: it was funny, especially the part about bitconnect. He actually managed to explain what Bitcoin is in layman's terms, so I'm sure this might get some people interested. And he also said that it could be worth a lot or nothing, and people might be actually getting their lambos in a couple years, nobody knows that. The theme of the show was to think before you invest and not dream about those cars and houses but do the research.

Not at all. I also agree that there are a lot of people don't know anything about Bitcoin, about Blockchain technology but they've invested a lot of money in cryptocurrency cause they're told that it's the best way to earn money. But Bitcoin is not a game, it's the first digital currency in this world, it's making this world better by providing a new way to make worlwide payment.

The comic John Oliver in his show talks a lot about cryptocurrency and bitcoin in particular (https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/mar/12/john-oliver-last-week-tonight-cryptocurrency). He claimed that people don`t understand what bitcoin is. He also characterized bitcoin as a combination of what people do not understand in money and computers. Do you think he's right or not? Is bitcoin just a game for the majority of people? Is it true that we are beginning to be interested in crypto currency only looking at others and we have a "herd instinct"? Or people really see in bitcoin something more than just a tool for gambling?

yes at the beginning this is already taking the risk if you have coins because of the volatile price of it and if you think more crypto currency are so many by now so there's a lot of investors too that"s why it run.If there a coin there an opening to earn or to lose to,Moreover this is running by that situation so even some people say negative about crypto still there's a lot of positive here that can crypto brings

yes, I agree with him that people who do not understand bitcoin are people who do not understand technology and also do not understand how money management.
I think everyone has made bitcoin as a job to make money, so bitcoin is not a game.

if we are interested in bitcoin with the excuse of just following the majority of people, then he will not last long stay in bitcoin.
so bitcoin is not gambling, but nice job.

I don't think investing in it or day trading it is gambling at all.

In gambling, you are throwing the dice. You have no clue about the outcome nor do you have any data to help you predict that outcome.

With investing and trading, there are tools that make it possible to make informed decisions on the outcome. Making decisions based on this information is not gambling.

All investments are just like gambling. Just a difference in the severity of the stakes and risks involved. Also, with the level of social media we have right now, the "herd" mentality will awlays be present. Actually, nobody is unique anymore. You're always a part of a herd one way or another.

Things are looking darker each day. I like John Oliver, he cooks good meals, love the restaurants of his around the world... But I don't understand why he talk about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies... I mean, your job is to cook! Not to give people suggestions about things you don't understand!

Edit: I mixed John Oliver with Jamie Oliver...

Grin Grin Grin I adore Jamie Oliver and his show. He is a great cook and he gives really useful advice. I learned from him a lot of interesting and delicious recipes, while they are not very complex and such dishes can be cooked at home. However, in 15 minutes you can do this only if you have all those cool kitchen accessories and harvesters like his. Otherwise, the cooking takes 40 minutes - an hour. But I imagined how funny it would be if he was talking about crypto-currencies in his program)))

I fully agree with the fact that every person should understand for himself how much he understands the crypto-currencies and whether he should start working in this sphere. A person can assess his own strength and make his choice. The fact that most people involved in crypto currency have no idea what it is is a problem at the meta-level. But for a specific person in this field, this is not a problem at all, since he thinks about himself and his profit, and does not worry about others.

Bitcoin had a quality of interest to it before his popularity increased. Software developers, mathematicians, futurists, etc. As far as I'm concerned, most of populations consist of crowd that are foolish, gambler and ignorant in crypto market. I think that the contribution of this human stereotype is great in many absurd situations that are now living. I think John is right for now.
