There are many newbie's and jr. member's account asking for merits where in fact according to buddhism Merit (Sanskrit: puṇya, Pali: puñña) is a concept considered fundamental to Buddhist ethics. It is a beneficial and protective force which accumulates as a result of good deeds, acts, or thoughts. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merit_(Buddhism).
It is clearly stated that giving merits is only after doing a good deeds, acts, or thoughts but are these words shrink on their minds to those individual who hold newbie and jr.member's account? They are just asking merit without doing good deeds or act? That is why i do believe that working hard is the key to receive merit and not just by asking it, begging and crying for it over and over again. These higher ranks are doing their best in giving merits especially those who rank in legendary. They are doing their best. Kudos to them.

I thought yesterday when somebody made a thread asking for a "Test" on signing up to qualify their educational skills on blockchain information to be the reason for a little bit of merit was the nail in the coffin. But this guy seems to be way ahead of that.

Bringing religion into the Merit system. That was the last thing necessary to post here. Tongue

That is subjective. Some merit sources may even consider simple posts to be merit-able even if they are not posting some "good deed or act". Again merits are supposed to be awarded to post that are having quality and not posts about "good deads".

Agreed asking for merits = begging for merits = tagworthy by DT.
But what exactly do you mean by comment on "Legendary"? Why kudos to them can you please explain? They have got the highest rank and wont bother to rank up at all. So why kudos to them?

Well this kind of post can be made on this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0 , without creating a new topic to share your opinion about merit and what is going on because of it. Lastly, it is hard to rank up with merit, but it is not an impossible task.

Yes its true that it is so hard to rank up with the new merit system, but if you do without cheating on the system or any abuse like sended from your friend workmate etc. you will surely feel good on your achievement and you will be proud of it because you ranked up with your good post and helping the community NOT just like the others who cheat on the system or get merit from their friends.

I do not consider OP's post as much of a shit post. So whether stylishly trying to prig the heart of members who have merit to give or not is not really an issue for me. If the post on that isn't a shit post with lots of disjointed sentences, abbreviations and deficiency in concords. I'm good to go if I have to give.

Yeah not much of a shitpost. But a gibberish thread trying to ping the heart of merit holders, just like you said.

I'm really tired of these kind of topic. The only think I can see in Meta section is "Merit" or maybe "Hard to rank up", blah blah blah. Maybe you think or you were told that create this kind of topic will help you getting merit.  Roll Eyes. Stop immediately if you don't wanna tagged as a spammer or shitposter or something like that.

How hard it is to Rank up? - Almost the same topic created yesterday by another member Smiley.

Its hard to rank up now because of merit points , but thats in favor of the early adopters of bitcoin talk campaign that got high rank now. Its very hard to get merit although your post is very constructive but if people does not read your post or disregarded it its totally useless. You have to do something to steal the attention of everybody it should be unique of the uniqueness so that they can appreciate your work and give you merit. Its very sad for the late adopters to rank up now but im still thankful that i went to rank member before the merit was applied to all.

I do not support spamming with merit threads but if it differently done either to educate, expose users to what others are doing with merits or to get some merits via hilarious moves ...well !!

I see that if a low ranking member or yet to be known member opens such a thread, tongues will start waxing. Lol
I just believe if you have such gift, good in your strategy and a "words-smith" like nullius, you don't have to limit yourself.

Likewise, I have read some threads on such joking and passive allegation. If you have the talent, use it wisely  Grin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2975479.0
