NEP5 (NEO Enhancement Proposals) :  a coin/token that's created basically on the NEO network , and doesn't own its special blockchain & whome smart contracts are NEP-5 compliant .

ERC20 : (Ethereum Request for Comments) & 20 is the proposal ID number , piggyback on the Ethereum network.

Wow i didnt know that acronym before, but surely NEP5 tokens has more advance technology because NEO's platforn is the upgraded version of ethereum's platform as what i have research but these two doesnt have much difference because they are both offering  smartcontracts and d-app or decentralized applications to their users which is great, but if i these develoeper are looking for more future proof platform that would be NEO.

Perhaps the future for NEP5, but recently many NEO have been stolen and give reason to think about how best to proceed.

The different is simpe ERC20 is Ethereum based token and NEP5 is NEO based token, any token to run on the NEO blockchain, it would have to follow the NEP5 standard. and i cant say which one is better cause i use both of them, prefer ethereum though.
This is a good answer for you, if you need to find out more! NEO comes from China and is considered China's Etherium

Could you please anyone explain the difference between ERC20 based coins and NEP5 based coins. And what is better considering future growth of crypto-currencies?
Point1:  the first Chinese blockchain project.
Point2: NEO nodes use Byzantine Fault Tolerance Algorithm (dBFT) to reach consensus and ensure the finality of transactions. It also ensures that the system keeps its finality and availability as long as Byzantine fault occurs on less than 1/3 of the nodes. With the use of dBFT protocol, NEO practical transaction speed is 1,000 TPS and theoretically can reach 10,000 TPS in future.
Point3: NEO nodes use Byzantine Fault Tolerance Algorithm (dBFT) to reach consensus and ensure the finality of transactions.
Point4: NEO practical transaction speed is 1,000 TPS and theoretically can reach 10,000 TPS in future. Etherium in 2016 had a speed of 20  transactions per second. Visa – 1,667 transactions per second. Feel the difference. =)
Point5: As of the middle of October 2017, the NEO crypto currency costs $29.07. Now 1NEO=113.9$.
The conclusion is obvious, NEO is much more interesting than Etherium.

I think, that your reply isn't objective. You compare current NEO TPS and old ETH TPS from 2016. You mentioned only the progress of NEO price, and what about ETH? They also made a huge progress in the price.
I am not fan one of them. I also want to understand ERC20 benefits and NEP5 benefits.
