I originally posted this on the Bitcoin Discussion forum, but I didn't get any replies, so I figure this might be a better place for this.

I'm doing a research paper on cryptocurrencies, and I want to gather some information from you guys in order to spice it up. It would be awesome if you would answer the following questions:

1. What is your age, gender, and occupation?

2. What is your investment amount?

3. What cryptocurrencies are you invested in?

4. Are you invested for the long term, or do you speculate short term?

5. Are you currently mining, or have you mined coins in the past?

6. What coins did you mine?

7. How long did you mine them?

8. How long have you been involved in the cryptocurrency scene?

9. Are you dedicated to a particular coin, or do you sample around?

10. Do you expect cryptocurrencies to make you a great deal of money? Have they already?

11. Have you ever had your coins stolen from you? If so, then how?

12. What do you think will happen to cryptocurrencies in the next several years?

I'll start:

1. What is your age, gender, and occupation?
21, male, and student of Civil Engineering

2. What is your investment amount?
I started with $1200. and I've grown that to about $3500 with trading and mining.

3. What cryptocurrencies are you invested in?
Bitcoin and Litecoin. At one point I was into primecoin.

4. Are you invested for the long term, or do you speculate short term?
Speculate short term. I'm trying to build up to a useful long term investment.

5. Are you currently mining, or have you mined coins in the past?
I used to mine LTC, but stopped because the rate of return was too low, and my temps were too high.
I also mined XPM when it first came out.

6. What coins did you mine?
See above.

7. How long did you mine them?
I mined litecoin for about 2 months, and XPM for about a month.

8. How long have you been involved in the cryptocurrency scene?
I first tried to get involved about 3 years ago when BTC was around $3, but stopped because I didn't think the market was going anywhere (boy was that a mistake).
I got back into it around May of this year.

9. Are you dedicated to a particular coin, or do you sample around?
I sample around.

10. Do you expect cryptocurrencies to make you a great deal of money? Have they already?
Yes, but it will take several years.

11. Have you ever had your coins stolen from you? If so, then how?
Yes, I have had 800LTC stolen from me about a month ago. Somebody gained access to my email address and reset my password on BTC-e.

12. What do you think will happen to cryptocurrencies in the next several years?
I think they are going to explode in value.
