Tradehill still has my BTC from when it first shut down. I sent them an email as soon as I found out about the shutdown, which was in April 2012. I didn't receive any notice that they got shutdown either. A week later Jered Kenna from Tradehill emailed me back saying

"Jered, May 05 16:58 (PDT):
Can you send me an email from XXXXX@XX.com for security purposes?
I see XXX BTC and XXX USD. We no longer use Dwolla. They removed $176,000 from our account without mentioning anything and changed their TOS. I can send a check to a US address and the BTC to a Bitcoin address. I'm closing this ticket now so if you can copy/paste and send from XXXXX@XX.com I'll get this taken care of. Thanks.
Jered Kenna
Chief Executive Officer
TradeHill / BItcoin.com"

I then emailed him a few days later from my email address I used with Tradehill and gave him an address to send the money to. I never heard back after that. I have sent multiple emails asking what is going on with my BTC and never got a response. I have tried these email addresses: claim@tradehill.com, support@tradehill.com, info@tradehill.com, jered@tradehill.com. I tried to contact Jered on Twitter as well.

Is there another way to contact him? I know there are others in the same boat who have contacted him and he said he'd send their money but never did. I would like to resolve this without filing a lawsuit. I know Jared is busy, but it's been over 1 and half years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your are not the only one, my situation is the same as your, I think they give back coin from small accounts, but if you have a large coin account, they just keep them.  They give back small accounts so those people would vouch for them, but they keep the rest.  They have my coins, which could now valued in the $100K+.

They restarted earlier this year and wanted only large deposits, but they shutdown again a couple months ago and screwed people for the second time, except the new accounts supposed to be whale accounts.

So take them to court. They're in San Francisco.

It's also possible that Kraken is just a reboot of Tradehill. Both use the same cheezy mailbox store on Market St. in San Francisco.

The amount of BTC I have with them is a decent amount, but is is less than a couple others I've seen on here who have been refunded. Taking them to court is definitely going to be my next move if I don't hear from them soon

I don't think so. The details of Kraken's Ltd. (UK) director are public:
https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/director/8701569/jesse-powell

So I've got a rather good feeling with Kraken.com.
The only thing which I find a bit strange is: Payward Inc. (Krakens main branch) claims to be San Francisco based. But the site http://kepler.sos.ca.gov/ says that there is only a Payward Inc. in Sacramento, California, which is registered under the laws of Delaware? Strange construction. I dont't know if this is normal. Over here in Europe this would be impossible.
