I know from reading that some of the first ones were without the nexus screen and had glue and velcro stuck to various parts.

Did butterfly labs sort these issues out? If you were to order one now would you get a quality product. Thanks.

I suppose ultimately all that matters is those submitted shares but I've read about hardware error issues too with cgminer.

It's just a bunch of singles put together. In fact, there is a glued-together USB hub on the inside. My friend pre-ordered when it was 1.5TH, so he actually has 3 of them. He ripped the top off so that there was better airflow.  Here's a good pic of what I'm talking about: http://buttcoin.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/bfl-inside3.jpg

Besides horrible airflow, it works just fine.  (He has it in a temperature-controller datacenter, so if it runs bad in there, it's just poorly designed.)

These guys are sooo rich. Buying components for like 1000$ and then selling for 16000$+ ^^  Before miner was 7-10$ now its 70$+ ^^
