Hi all,
i got today my bi*fury and try to start running it but it failed.

Normally i have my sticks running on minepeon. (latest version of "git pull").

I plunged in my new bi*fury and i got a massage like:

Code:
[2013-12-19 14:50:40] USB init, open device failed, err -3, you don't have privilege to access - BXF device 2:25-i1
[2013-12-19 14:50:40] See README file included for help
[2013-12-19 14:50:40] bitfury detect (2:25) failed to initialise (incorrect device?)
 [2013-12-19 14:50:40] No devices detected!
[2013-12-19 14:50:40] Waiting for USB hotplug devices or press q to quit
[2013-12-19 14:50:40] Pool 0 not providing work fast enough
[2013-12-19 14:50:46] USB init, open device failed, err -3, you don't have privilege to access - BXF device 2:25-i1

Ok i know minepeon did not use the latest version so i compile it on my linux system and try it there.

Code:
./configure --enable-bitfury
make
make install
but i got the same issue.

after that i try it on my windows system and after installing the winusb driver it worked here.

i did not found a solution for the linux problem did anybody know a solution?

many thanks

What does the very second line log from cgminer say that you have quoted?

hi,
the readme did not help, google did not help. The only way that it work is to rum cgminer as root.

this is not the way minepeon is working but a bad workaround.

Just like Prego, "It's in there."

Go to the readme:

https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/README

And search for "root".

hi,
thanks for you hint.

i found the root solution at night. I checked the readme before and used other key words  like bi*fury and not root. I understand that is frustrating to every time questions like this but it is for me not easy too to look in lines of lines of text to find the exact point on different textiles. You are familiar with this product and have a lot of experience in it.

thanks

different textiles.

That's your problem, you were using denim when you should have been using polyester.   Roll Eyes
