Hello!

I think Dogecoin is Absolutely hilarious! Like... the most internet thing to ever have happened hahaha! I've been collecting bitcoins for a while and I really want to get into dogecoins now for the humor of it hahaha! So I tried mining, err— "digging" them for almost 6 hours last night on my Mac and did not get even 0.00000000 DOGE! :oooo This is my first time ever mining, I used DOGE-QT to do it... I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right? Attached is a screenshot of my set up? Should both numbers be at 99? What do they mean? Do I have to enter anything else in like my address or do I just start solo digging? After 6 hours of solo digging with both numbers set to 99 I didn't not get anything Shocked Just want to make sure it's all correct?

Also, if anyone wants to donate much coin, It's v appreciated! Plz! Wow! Smiley DPvMiqjFVhsaCZbYdv4mwn11qUVVHs4D4F

99 threads = the amount of cores and threads your PC has.

Also, solo mining is pointless. Join a mining pool.

I could be wrong but I dont think CPU mining or solo mining will get any noteworthy amount of Doge at this point. GPU mining, with something like GuiMiner and joining a pool is the way to go.

I tried solo CPU mining from a hotel room room starting about 24-36 hours after Dogecoin was released for about 8 hours, when the difficulty was at less than 5, and did not hit a block.  At that time, the insta-mine was still strong and blocks were being mined every 5-10 seconds.  Now the difficulty is >100, the block time has slowed down, and I would not expect a CPU to hit a block any time soon.  Like the previous poster says, go find a pool.  I am using www.dogepool.net which does not have insane VARDIFF and you could contribute with a CPU and make several hundred DOGE per day.  However, since DOGE is actually worthless, it does not really amount to much-- but after 8 months of mining BTC & LTC, it's fun to count your coins in "large" increments.  That is all.

I'm mining dogecoins using cloud servers from DA and for $30 I can get 15 x 8 CPUs minning for 12 hours ($0.238 per hour on single Droplet). I made a simple tutorial so if you are interested in minig using cloud servers have a look:
