can anyone tell me how this maxcoin thing failed?
Completely missed the boat. Was working on Smartcoin.
Always in for a good laugh.

Devs delayed 24 hours because of "Bitcointalk DDOS"... When they finally launch, they launch an hour late with no windows wallet, no directions (despite the fact they said they would post them)... and no EXE miner, only the uncompiled code

Lost two evenings of my life to this crap... fail devs tease and tease and postpone and postpone thinking they are the center of the universe keeping people waiting and then launch without Windows wallet and miner lol. "Fair and easy for everyone to mine" lol.

Q: I am on Windows... can I mine?
A: Yep, there will be a client for all major OS.

No there weren't. Haven't bothered to check if there already is but no point anymore.

Either they are incompetent, stupid, and arrogant, or they just wanted to instamine themselves when 90% of the people can't mine because they don't release the tools to do it.

Listen to the Keiser report from last week. He had the devs on there to promote and they were so clearly over their heads...not to mention their failed genesis block launch.

Now we know for sure.

Ahh so I'm not the only one. I was following the tweets and trying to get the Windows mining up and going, couldn't find the .exe, the appdata folder wasn't created when they said to put the config file in the bitcoin appdata folder, confused as all hell, thought I was retarded... Turns out it wasn't just me. That makes me feel less dumb now.

The windows maxcoind.exe was bugged and it wouldnt run on my win7 PC but would on an XP one which I tried an hour later. They released a fixed file on github but many didnt see it. It did work on win 7 after but maxcoind getbalance and getaddress didnt work. well not until after I tweeted are we running a botnet for you and suddenly it started working 10 mins later, coincidence?
