EDIT: ANSWER == PROBABLY YES.
No one has given me an answer, but I followed the following progression in my post.
(1)I ask: Can I use a plain 12V PSU for my Cube?
(2) I spend a good bit of time showing all my confusion and efforts at finding an answer.
(3) Hours later I look up the pin-out for 6-pin PCI-e and discover it is simply 12V and GND. I.e, the powersupplies I described are *ideal*

Hello! I apologize. I know this question is answered *SOMEWHERE* but I can't find it anywhere.

I have easily 3-4 high powered servery supplies that I've setup to be always-on through a couple jumpers and occasionally a resistor here and there (depending on model.)

So I have these big thick cables coming out of the power supplies because I've been running them as 12V voltage sources for my other hobbies (3D printers, electric bikes.)

But money is still tight and what I don't have is a 800W traditional PC PSU lying around.

Is there any way to rig my eruptor cubes to run off just 12V? Or, do they also use the 5V lines and the 12V lines of a regular PSU in some more complicated ways?

My server supplies offer 50A+ each, so 12V line is not an issue. I just don't know if the cubes will take to being given just 12V.

[Server supplies are insane. I once got a $50 used dell power supply that delivered 54A @ 52V. 220V only that one though. These things have hundreds of dollars in components and labor, but are dumped as they get cycled in server farms pretty frequently. Obviously getting my nerd on, but they are beautiful to look inside. I cannot imagine designing one, it must take a lot of work and brains. Balance of thermal and electrical considerations, and space, is supercool]

I should add that I've done my google searches, which end up being a bit imprecise because of the cross-contamination with the eruptor usb sticks in the search results. More pages on those little guys.

some more of my proof of due diligence:
This guide shows how you can use server supplies for the asic BLADEs. I dont think it applies though to the cube, but I might be too newbie to realize what the cube is made of. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=205369.0

There's one comment here that says you can power the cubes with a server suppy:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333280.0
But no mention of HOW, so i feel it's not very confirmed.

This page is asking exactly my question in general:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=212431.0
Only one guy said it worked, and for his butterfly 30gh/s.  But no confirmation on the Asic Cube. The butterflys I think just take a 12V input so that makes sense.

There is this one guy modifying a specific dell PSU brand:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=379677.0
But it's unclear whether it would work for the cube, and moreover, I already have all my powersupplies heavily soldered and modified so that they only offer my 12V (they were modified for my specific previous uses.)

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY THREAD.

I acknowledge I am a newb,  but in other realms where I'm not quite a newb I don't appreciate when new posters just shout out their first question without trying to search for information. I hope I can show I've tried looking and just need some help.
