I have a quick question: is the hashrate speed given by miners expressed in a decimal prefix (1Mhash/s = 1000 000 Hashes/s), or a binary prefix (1Mhash/s = 1 048 576)?

Well, I would be it is 1,000,000 (since most other things use that to help the MHash numbers look "bigger" ) but I really don't know what is the case with bitcoin.
