Actually I do not know about the exact reason for such declaration. There can be many reasons for such decision but I think such decision will have some impact on the ICO market at the instance. But I think such impact will not last long on the market. Moreover the decision can be changed by him also.

SEC is there to assist the projects and the investors are not going to be scammed. He's tweeting services won't be needed anymore in the next days to come that is why he starting tweeting such when in fact no one is going to pay $100K per tweet because of the SEC doing it for the team and are verifying information of the team doing ICO. That guy lives like a king because of the previous ICO and starts to spread shits.

Intersting to know that SEC is taking over the John Mcfee. I mean this post means the same thing I guess and SEC might be just getting more attention of people these days as I am hearing this name at least many more times a day on the forum itself. Its like it has started sudden mouth to mouth popularity and is beaming very stubborn in the market as point of centre. Considering Mcfee, I dont think he will really stop any day in the future. John McAfee Will Stop ICO Promotion Services - The cybersecurity pioneer and eccentric digital currency advocate John McAfee, who has long been a digital token promoter has revealed today that he will not promote ICO anymore because of the perceived "threat" of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mcafee revealed this through social media on his Twitter hand.

According to a source from social media Mcafee announced he will stop the ICO promotion services. The reason behind this is the threats received from the Securities and Exchange Commission. Given the good reputation Mcafee has, the company cannot risk any such stunt which will cause hindrance on the company’s reputation.
