Off-topic. Are posts in off-topic counted to activity?

Offtopic has many shit posters and I don't know how they make posts in off-topic. Do they get anything from posts in off-topic?

Topics in offtopic can be helpful but very scarce to see them. No value topics in offtopic can a topic for spammers. I don't know moderators accept reports to lock those topics if I submit my reports. If a topic is no value at birth and after a while, is it good to lock it forever?

Please help and if moderators will lock it with my reports, I will make report if I see them.

Yes, they do get activity but that's useless without merits. Perhaps there are signature campaigns that pay for posts in Off Topic, not sure.

Despite the board being named "Off Topic" the rules still apply. Meaning - low value posts/threads, off topic posts, etc should be reported and will be acted upon by mods. And if you see a thread turning into a spam megathread - sure, report it for locking.

Submit your reports and see if moderators would act on it. Of topic board is a board just like others and shouldn't have a lower criteria in terms of moderation, so if a post is low value and contributes nothing it should be deleted or thrashed by the mods regardless of where it is posted.
It may be more difficult to tag a post as low value there as the board has a broad spectrum and isn't about any particular subject, but obvious spamming should not be tolerated.
