Openrig.net has Changed its Terms of Service:

Service now requires US residence.

Until otherwise stated, service will only be provided to US residents. 

All non-US resident accounts will no longer be able to access their dashboard on openrig.net.

If you have operated Rigs in the last week; your user info, including Rig endpoints (Rigs will continue to work with their current settings), will remain active until April 20th.

If you have not operated Rigs in the last week your account and all related data has been deleted.

On April 20th, all non-US resident accounts and all related data will be deleted.

Ensure that you have modified all scripts to execute locally or else use a different control method or OS by then.

I am not sure a centralized service is best for worldwide use.  While there are significant benefits to a centralized service, there is an unavoidable amount of overhead.  This overhead must be covered somehow, and charging a fee is necessary if fast and secure service is to be provided.  In my observations, most users rarely tend to change their settings.  In this case, paying for a management service is really: paying for the ability to easily change configurations and ensure they are stable.  Thus, it makes the most sense for hosting providers or miners with 10+ Rigs.  However, in this case I believe it makes more sense to have a single computer onsite running a management process.  This process could interact with a centralized or distributed service, to backup or recover data if it is lost locally; or it could simply store its data in a directory that is uploaded to cloud storage.

I am not sure what user you are trying to use without a password. 

I am assuming you are using the nvOC Community Edition.

I haven't used the newest version of the Community Edition, but these steps should work with any Ubuntu version.

how to rm the need for a password in linux

note: replace <username> with your username.  For example if my chosen username was m2: sudo adduser m2

make your user using

Code:

sudo adduser <username>

in a terminal

give the user a password using

Code:

sudo passwd <username>

in a terminal, enter new password twice

switch user to the new user using

Code:

su <username>

Note oros works without issue with 1660 or 1660ti; no driver issues.

If your rigs are currently running:

To update your watchdog to support new mining clients, use the: reclient button in Rig List. 

It will stop the watchdog, download the newest version, then restart it and the mining process.
