Unhandled reports are considered "soft-bad". Okay, no issue there.
But could we have a separate bin for pending reports and unhandled reports? Sometimes, I have literally no idea if a post I reported was left alone intentionally or is just still hovering in the queue. Not a high-priority issue but having massive chunks of unhandled reports tells me that either the posts are fine, or that the moderator assigned to the section has yet to review it. At that point, I have no option other than to wait a few days to see if those kinds of posts are considered fine before reporting similar posts.

Does it really matter?
Just continue to do your bit to keep the forum spam free. It’s appreciated by all of us who post on the forum for the right reasons. I often have reports left as unhandled, it doesn’t bother me. As the message says ‘Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports‘.
Mods haven’t got time to explain why they’ve decided to leave a post as unhandled. Just shrug your shoulders & carry on reporting.

I have no qualms with a lack of explanation regarding unhandled reports. I merely want a separation between reports that have not been looked-at and reports that have been marked as unhandled.
I have ~3000 unhandled reports. I know that approximately ~1000 are truly unhandled... the other 2000 I have no idea.

Would be nice to go back in your report history so you can look about what posts unhandled and you can report them again , guess sometimes some of them just going under somewhere in nowhere and just forget.

I started archiving my report history since it's only a one-month retention period. I don't think we should be re-reporting posts, though. Some decisions, I disagree with, but by the time the report is handled there are thousands of new spam posts to report, so it's not worth the effort IMO.

Just saying it and yeb you are right it isnt worth it and for sure if you asking a moderator friendly about unhandeld reports you will get maybe an answer what report is unhandeld or was.

afaik mods would mark your report as bad report if you report the same post again (double report) I have no qualms with a lack of explanation regarding unhandled reports. I merely want a separation between reports that have not been looked-at and reports that have been marked as unhandled.
I would say if it is already past 7 days since you reported it, then it's been looked at or if you have a report that is skipped when the most recent report has been handled (marked good) then it is very likely that the skipped report has been handled as well and "marked" truely unhandled

Yes its happening with me too. I reported 4 or 5 post because they just trolling and crying on each other . Still my those reports are unhandled and I don't know if I will continue to report that kind post or not? Its already passed one months. My all reports handled successfully and says its good but only 6 posts are unhandled. I don't know if it's because those post was posted by higher rank members in the forum or moderator is confused if it's should be deleted or not. I couldn't even ask moderator for why it's still unhandled because in the present time their is no moderator for Indian local board.

I have asked theymos for two report queues: one for important/urgent reports and another for sig spam or less important stuff because the report queue is getting filled with reports on sig spammers and it buries all the others so mods have to scroll through dozens and sometimes hundreds of reports just to find something that isn't sig spam related. There could either be two report buttons or a drop down menu with the most common rule infractions and that sorts them into importance somehow.

If one moderator decides not to do anything, he can leave it so that another moderator sees it too. If he also does nothing, it remains unhandled until it just moves down the list. If the first moderator would have to move the post from "pending" to "unhandled", that means he can't just leave the decision to another moderator anymore (for a "second opinion").

Is it paginated or would it be possible to just put out a blanket search term (e.g. via CTRL/CMD+F on browsers or editors)?
I could incorporate tags in my reports, or something like [P#] where you have prioritization from say # = [1, 4] in terms of ranking. Just as an example... [P1] would be plagiarism or egregious rule breaking [P2] would be mass bumping of a thread [P3] would be spam [P4] would be smaller rules, like 24h bumps

Does it really matter? <snip> It’s appreciated by all of us who post on the forum for the right reasons.
Personally, I don't think it matters all that much--and whether the reports are acted on or not, they certainly are appreciated. It's far better to have some reports unhandled than to not have them exist at all. I have less than 100 unhandled reports out of more than 4000 total, so I'm not complaining at all and I don't care if the unhandled ones are 'soft-bads' or not, nor do I care much for my reporting accuracy. I probably would care if it was low, but it isn't. Actmyname is likely doing a very good job in spite of mods not taking care of all of his reports, and hopefully he'll keep it up regardless of how the reports are handled. Still my those reports are unhandled and I don't know if I will continue to report that kind post or not? Its already passed one months.
I wouldn't worry about it. Those reports may never get handled, and if no action has been taken in over a month then no action may ever get taken. My unhandled reports have been there forever, but the point is that I did something about spam myself. If the mods agree with me, that's fine. If not, that's also fine.

It's far better to have some reports unhandled than to not have them exist at all. I mean, wouldn't you get anxious or even de-motivated when you report something and it doesn't get handled for days, and you don't even know why that's the case because mods can't and don't provide the explanation and why they haven't handled the report,or even if. I think it'd be a great if the unhandled reports and pending reports would be in separate columns, if its gonna help the reporters from not worrying about the unhandled reports and continue on to their day with a smile on their face.

In my experience, almost all of the reports I make that will get handled are handled within 24 hours; I don't keep track, but I would estimate that less than 2% of my handled reports were handled after more than 24 hours. I would guesstimate that over 2/3 of my reports are handled within 8 hours.
I don’t make a lot of reports for sig spam, however if I notice someone making especially poor posts, I will review their post history, and report a handful of their recent posts if they are mostly made up of low effort, or off topic posts, and make a note that the person is wearing a paid signature.
To put this in context, about 2.5% of my reported posts remain unhandled, and less than 1% are marked as bad. I looked at some of my bad reports, and after the fact decided that I probably made a mistake when reporting, and noticed that a moderator action was taken on some others, leading me to believe that someone may have accidentally marked a report as 'bad' even though they took action on it.

If reporting makes you anxious I'd probably find something else to do. You can usually work out what sort of stuff to bother reporting or not by how they're handled by a mod (if they are at all). If certain hings aren't getting handled then it's up to you whether you continue reporting them or not, but giving feedback on every report we don't handle would be a nightmare and take far more time than handling the report in the first place.

Fair enough, I was just being general about the anxiety part. But yeah no one in their sane mind would ask for feedback for every single report they report on a forum, no, I am not asking that, that'd be crazy. I wouldn't really look at as or call them 'soft bad'. Most of the time they're just left in the queue because no mod had decided to get involved for whatever reason. If they were truly a bad report then they'd likely be marked as so.
Don't you think there should be more mods assigned? Two global mods were removed, because they were inactive, and the moderation team could definitely use some help I assume? Like there could be temporary volunteers/intern moderators? People do a lot of shit for "clout" here, I am sure many would gladly volunteer for helping the mod team.

Well, given the current amount of reports and backlog on sig spam/unsubstantial posts and current staffs reluctance to go through them swiftly it might be a good idea. I've suggested maybe implementing some dedicated sign spam mods to clear it all up since it takes so much time. Ideally we'd have two report buttons/queues to help filter it better.
