I might be completely wrong about this, but i think I might have come across a thread that's filled with sockpuppet accounts that are posting very similar replies. Replies that are different enough, so they don't count as plagiarism, but the writing style just seems very similar. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5136002.0Focus on the newbie accounts that only have around 50 posts, all those replies are very similar. Here's what I found as well, in the OP, the user libercrypto uses a referral link: Hello everyone. I recently found out about this new blogging platform, that is looking to take the crown from Steemit. Instead of having their own native token, you can currently earn two tokens on the platform from tipping articles (upvoting that is free) and writing content. Currently the two tokens that you can earn are :- 1 - Bounty0x tokens (BNTY) - Ranked 812th on CMC - MarketCap - 1,156,582 2 - HYDRO tokens (HYDRO) - Ranked 388th on CMC - MarketCap - 7,251,634 In the last month they have doubled their userbase two months in a row (Currently at over 6,000 registered users). I am a huge fan of the project so far and I have already made more cash from this platform than Steemit. What do you think about the platform? Is anyone else here a user? What are the downfalls of it? If you want to read the update you can do by clicking on the link below. https://www.publish0x.com/publish0x-official-blog/publish0x-april-update-xyvejd?a=GELe3POa69Thanks and look forward to your responses. Then I went over his last posts and he replied to another thread, where in the OP someone uses the same referral link as him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5129066.msg50497943#msg50497943(can't quote because thread is locked) Here as well: The "a=GELe3POa69" seems to be a referral link that you can add to any URL from Bounty0x, just too much coincidence that the same one would be used multiple times by different people. From the bounty0x website: Edit: Btw, I know it's not against the rules to have multiple accounts, but here it's being used to bump topics & spam referral links.

There are 24 posts containing this reference code (together with your OP) > the search resultsI guess they can be reported as ref. links and deleted but noting more can be done.

Yeah indeed, I thought so. Now, I'll keep an eye on these accounts in the next couple of months, in case they eventually decide to join a campaign. I'm sure this person has created a shitload of accounts, just to either spam his referral link, bump his topics and/or participate in campaigns.

Maybe @LoyceV can make a list with everyone who posted in the thread to keep a better overview of the accounts. Other thing to check is the registration date of the accounts and the post history, often happens that those accounts post in same threads, creating fake conversations.

It's definitely sock puppets... bumping threads that start with the referral link... I mean, look at this: Here the user states they've been a user for a month... ... I;ve been using this platform for about a month now and it's great. ...
Then just over a month later... "I just signed up today" ... I've only signed up today and i'm very happy with the platform for numerous reasons :- ...
It's just a bunch of sock puppets shilling for Publish0x... while bumping reflink spam
but maybe we were wrong and every article shared to have that code? so any expert on bounty0x platform?
Just read their instructions for "Ambassadors" (aka reflink spammers)

Just read their instructions for "Ambassadors" (aka reflink spammers) Exactly, that's why I also shared the screenshot with that info. The thing is, these referral links are pretty easy to miss, because you can just add them to any page of that website. When I glanced over the thread, it was pretty clear that there were a bunch of accounts just saying the same thing, using slightly different wording. Also, the way OP structured his sentences was pretty similar to other responses in that thread. Though that was just more of a gut feeling at my end, not actual proof.

In response to Loyce's list:
It's pretty suspicious that so many newbie accounts replied to that thread. I know how it is to post in Altcoin Discussion, you post a thread and without bumping, it quickly get buried.
It's extremely likely that most of those newbie accounts are owned by the same person.
I'm not calling for a ban of course, but it's at least a good idea to have this information out in the public. If they're creating fake discussion among each other, it does warrant a negative trust rating.
Thanks for compiling that list @Loyce!

No need to be his own accounts. There are actual services available which provide ANN bumping for cheep money and people fall for it. I have warned thyemos about it some months ago, for now all what we can do is to report them, only the comment get deleted. This is not the only case, see the last pages of this thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4720640.0

Looking at it now, it definitely makes sense that they're just using a paid service to do this. In hindsight, I had better just posted a reply on that thread.

I understand that the forum is constantly searching for scammers. But personally, I do not understand how I could be on this list.
The project really works. That is why I decided to leave my comment there. I do not see anything criminal here.

The list is of those who has commented on the thread, it's not a scan accusation. There appears to be extra incentive to fueling most of the discussions happening there. As LoyceV pointed out: This does not mean they're all bad users.

Well the thread has done one useful thing. It has reminded me that I haven't checked my Steemit account for months. The other way for content producers to gain rewards, is by receiving BAT tips. I'm thinking of reviving the Fit to Talk project, and adding the BAT option to that.
I didn't really read those threads in detail, I did a bit of quick scanning, and I decided the project wasn't worth joining. Spamming a project like that can be counter productive, and it often puts off new members.
